Course Description:
Antennas ( Types of antennas, Radiation mechanism, Current distribution, effective antenna area and radar cross
section), Fundamental Parameters of Antennas (Radiation pattern, Radiation intensity, Directivity, Gain.,
Efficiency, beamwidth, bandwidth, Polarization, Impedance, Antenna as an apertures.), Radiation Integrals ( Vector
potential A, Vector potential F, Far-field radiation , Duality, reciprocity, and reaction theorem.) Wire Antennas (
Short wire, Finite length dipole, Ground effects), Loop Antennas ( Small circular loop, Large circular loop),
Arrays ( Linear array, Broadside, Endfire, Scanning , Planar array, Circular array, Yagi-Uda, Log-Periodic,
Smart/Intelligent/Adaptive Antennas), Microstrip Antennas, Wave Propagation (mechanism of radio wave
propagation, effects of ground and atmosphere on propagation.
