TOPIC/LESSON NAME Who is the Human Person


CONTENT STANDARD The learner understands the human personas an embodied spirit.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The learner distinguishes his/her own limitations and the possibilities for his/her transcendence.
The learners:
LEARNING COMPETENCIES  recognize own limitations and possibilities;
 evaluate own limitations and the possibilities for their transcendence;
 recognize how the human body imposes limits and possibilities for transcendence, and;
 distinguishes the limitations and possibilities of transcendence.
At the end of this module, I can:
SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES  recognize own limitations and possibilities;
 evaluate own limitations and the possibilities for their transcendence;
 explain the theories on human nature, and;
 illustrate the human condition of freedom.

INTRODUCTION:
Presentation of the objectives
At the end of this module, I can:
 recognize my own limitations and possibilities;
 evaluate my own limitations and the possibilities for their transcendence;
 explain the theories on human nature, and;
 illustrate the human condition of freedom.

MOTIVATION Guide Questions:


The teacher will play a video entitled “Human Person?” 1. For you, what is your own philosophy?

INSTRUCTION/DELIVERY Teacher’s Tip:


Introduce the concept of the human person. Let the students participate in the discussion.
Differentiate the aspects of human nature namely the somatic, behavioral, and attitudinal.
Explain the theories of human person.
 Theory of Human Nature as an Immortal Soul
 The Human Person as a Composite of Body and Soul
 The Human Person as a Thinking Thing
 Philosophy as Reflective Inquiry
Discuss the Human Condition.
Explain the limits and possibilities of a human person.
PRACTICE
1. What do you think are the implications of the distinctions made about human nature?
2. Do you think responsibility is a necessary response to freedom? Why or why not?
EVALUATION Teacher’s Tip:
Oral Recitation Present and discuss the rubrics.
If the past does not define who you are, what then will constitute you as a human being if you are not your past
anymore? Does this suggest that you are limited as a being, or as possibilities? Why? Why not?
