Remember, the purpose of this research is to prove that your topic’s relationship with Debate &
Diplomacy had Successes, Failures, and Consequences. When you state this purpose in two-three
sentences, you have your central thesis.

Each paragraph should include details that are NOT REPEATED from any other paragraph. These details may
include your opinion, as long as you have copied and pasted (or typed) the primary/secondary source that
supports your opinion. Questions?

first athlete to win varsity letters in four different sports. In 1941 Jackie Robinson was named to the All-
American football team. In 1945 Jackie Robinson played one season In the Negro Baseball League. In
1947 Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers President, went up to Jackie Robinson and asked if he
wanted to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers. By accepting the offer Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier
in baseball.

important? Jackie Robinson was segregated against when he was playing all types of sports. He played
many sports at UCLA and was a great athlete. He joined a baseball team in the Negro League. Then
Branch Rickey gave him a chance to prove him self in the major leagues. There was a lot of segregation
but he had to overcome all of the racism to play the sport he loved.

American who got segregated against when he first started to play baseball in the Major Leagues in 1947. He
had to be brave through all of that and keep playing the sport he loved to play.

influence my topic in history? World War II was ending. This war was between about 57 countries. World
War II began in 1939 and ended in 1945. Two of the countries that fought in the war were Germany, and
The United States.
