2. Office Project – must be completed and logged by 3:00 on October 22
Complete a “real” job for someone that utilizes your computer/office skills (not just stapling or photocopying) o Each student must do one job. o Project must be approved by instructor. o The Office Project Google forms must be completed and submitted by the deadline. Use the link on Mrs. Klein’s website to complete the Google form.
3. Soft Skills Packets – due October 12/13
Files are located on Mrs. Klein’s website http://bonitaklein.weebly.com on the Advanced Business Management tab Syllabus #1. “Presenting Yourself Professionally” Read and answer all questions, including the Critical Thinking Questions. Questions should be answered on a separate word document and attached to an email sent to Mrs. Klein. All answers must be in complete sentences.
4. Professional Dress Handout/Memo/PowerPoint Project—due October 14/15
At the beginning of the class Mrs. Klein will go over expectations for professional dress Review another presentation link found on Mrs. Klein’s website called “Professional Etiquette: How to: Dress for Success”. After carefully reviewing the presentation and determining professional dress for both men and women, create an employee’s guidelines for “Business Professional”, “Business Ready”, “Business Casual”, and “Casual Casual”, as if you were a Human Resource Manager creating the handout for your employees. Keep the handout professional but be creative and follow the guidelines outlined in the presentation. Once the handout is created, write a memo to Administrative Office Management Students, using the BPA Style and Reference Manual format. Include in the memo a brief explanation of the handout, referring to the handout. Include both the handout and the memo attached to an email sent to Mrs. Klein. Next download the instruction for the PowerPoint Professional Dress assignment found on Mrs. Klein’s website. Follow all steps and submit PowerPoint in an attached email to Mrs. Klein.

Workshop will be conducted by Dot Foods to outline Job Search Project requirements and tips for a successful interview—Virtual Field trip to Dot Foods, October 19/20 Apply for an administrative assistant for Dot Foods by preparing the following documents: o Resume, cover letter, reference sheet—Print and turn in —Due October 21/22 Examples can be found on www.bonitaklein.weebly.com Administrative Office and Management Syllabus #1 October 12 – October 23 Final draft due on interview day and resume, reference sheet must be printed on resume paper. You will be able to make revision to your Resume before the Mock Interview with Dot Foods. Thank you note should be hand written on a thank you note provided by the instructor after the mock interview. List 10 common interview questions and appropriate answers; be specific – what exactly would you say? —due October 21/22 o Use tips given by Ms. Kieffer from DOT Foods Attached a Word document with your questions and answers in an email to Mrs. Klein Mock interviews will be conducted by human resource managers at Dot Foods ???
7. Professional Dress Day—October 21/22
Create folders in your Google Drive, keep your work organized.
You will be creating a Portfolio of your work at the end of the semester and year with all of your projects. Keep an active “to do” list and calendar to meet your deadlines. o The work on the Syllabus is not necessarily in “To Do” order. Use BPA style manual as a reference for correct document formats. There are some on the bookcase or there is a link on Mrs. Klein’s website.
