Generalization

It can be concluded from both experiments that the structure of DNA from the banana and cheek cells
are similar and not so entirely different. Each appear as a white, stringy precipitate yet both come from
different organisms, one from a fruit and the other from a person. This proves that the DNA code is
universal allowing it to work the same in all living things. This is a critical fact that progresses the field of
biotechnology and is the starting point for numerous applications, ranging from fundamental research
and therapeutic decision-making. Extraction and purification are also important in determining the
unique characteristics of DNA, including its size, shape and function. The ability to extract DNA is of
primary importance to studying the genetic causes of disease and for the development of diagnostics
and drugs. It is also essential for carrying out forensic science, sequencing genomes, detecting bacteria
and viruses in the environment and for determining paternity. For plants, DNA extraction is necessary
for genetically modifying crops. Through genetic engineering, improvements to crops or food will make
it disease resistant which will stop pests and other problems from destroying the food, allowing farmers
money as they would not lose any crops also scientist could genetically modify the fruit to be resilient to
different weather climates so farmers could grow without worrying about their crops when droughts
occur.
