About the artist

Jean-Michel started learning the accordion when he was very young. Aged 15 he obtained a price of
distinction from the French accordion club and he spent his teenage years learning music with a second
instrument, the clarinet.
After being awarded various prices from the music Academies of Caen and Versailles, he obtained his
teaching diploma in 1996.
Since 1999, he has been teaching his two favorite instruments, the accordion and the clarinet at the music
Academy of Bernay.
In 2005 he joined the A/Corps company (contemporary dance) and participated in composing musics for
different shows.
Since 2009, he has been playing the accordion in the jazz trio Ana Kap with trumpetist Pierre Millet and
violinist Manuel Decocq. In 2011 he went on tour with comedian Emmanuel Pleintel and since April 2012 he
has composed and played traditional Balkan music.
