This Financial Statement is required for undergraduate applicants who live outside the U.S. and those living in the U.S. with a valid visa. International
students not requesting need-based financial aid must demonstrate ability to finance their education at Rice; those requesting need-based financial aid
must provide information about their family financial status. Whether applying for need-based aid or not, all international applicants must complete this
Financial Statement and supply the appropriate supporting documentation (in English and converted to U.S. dollars).

Your application will not be reviewed until this form, along with all required documentation, completed to our satisfaction, is returned to Rice.
The preferred method of application submission is via your Rice Admission Student Portal using the Upload Materials tool. If submission via your
Student Portal is not an option, please return materials via airmail, express mail or fax to expedite processing and ensure you meet the appropriate
deadlines.

to meet Rice's financial requirements and costs as determined by the Student Budget for 2018-2019. The total sum of your sources
of support should equal the 2018-2019 total cost of attendance, approximately $68,000. The Student Budget is subject to change
prior to fall 2019 enrollment since student fees are set at the end of each year.

Documentation (appropriate affidavits and/or scholarship awards) must also be sent with this form as proof of financial support for

year of study with the proper certification (i.e., a bank affidavit signed by a bank official, affidavit of support from each sponsor, an official
copy of each scholarship or award). The United States Consulate in your home country will require the same documentation before issuing you a
student visa.

As an undergraduate international student you will not be eligible to apply for financial aid at any time during your undergraduate
career, unless you apply for and receive such aid in the freshman admission process; also, you will not be permitted to work off
campus (as stipulated by U.S. immigration regulations). This policy is regardless of unforeseen family difficulties, political changes in your
home country, currency devaluation, etc., that may alter your financial situation. PLEASE NOTE: Rice students are required to pay each
semester’s bill prior to the beginning of the semester.
