ये व रम नद यं अ य तं पयुपासते।
सव गम च यं च कूट थमचलं ुवम ्।।12.3।।
तु - But
ये - those
अ रं – indestructible, Pure consciousness
अिनद ं – That, which cannot be described, by words
अ ं – that, which cannot be objectified, by the sense organs
पयु पासते – one, who understands this
सव गं – that, which is present everywhere; All-pervading.
अिच ं – that, which cannot be thought about
कूट थं अचलं ु वं – that, which cannot be moved
सं नय येि य ामं -
This should be re-arranged, as:
इ य ामं सि य -
Keeping the group of the senses,
namely the eyes, the ears, the nose, the tongue, and the skin,
away from attachment to the sensory perceptions,
such as seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching, and
with the help of the intellect and spiritual practices,
keeping them under control.
So, being the one, who sees the pure consciousness in everyone,
he lives without any desire or hatred. -सव समबु य:
ते ा ुव मामेव
ते- they
मामे व – Me alone
ा ुव – attain.
Attaining means, understanding the Pure consciousness as the Self.
They attain Bhagavan.
So, the Vishwarupa Upasakas are superior. But, those doing the jnana
yoga sadhana, attain Bhagavan.
They understand Bhagavan, who is All-pervading, as the Pure
consciousness in the Self.
Let us study the meaning for the next sloka, in the next session. These
two slokas should be studied together. Only then, can we understand
the correct meaning.
The first sloka, talks about the formless nature of Bhagavan, and the
second sloka, about the eligibility criteria to understand Him. The
benefit, of such an understanding, has also been said. The benefit, or
the fruit of this, is Moksha, or Ishwara prapti, or the eternal happiness.
