Discussion:
This book is about a little boy who is expecting Santa. So whatever he heard, he thought, “It
must be Santa!” In this class we will read through this storybook, and learn a new grammar
point.

【Reading】
Jigsaw Activity for reading (10mins)
1. Divide the class into 4 groups, and assign each group to read 1/4 of the story.
2. Reform new groups with one member from each original group. And have Ss to share
information with their new groups.
【Grammar】(15mins)
1. (Model) Elicit a list of present continuous tense verbs from Ss. (Ask Ss to find the words
in the story.)
2. Introduce the meaning of present continuous tense.
3. (Infer) Have Ss infer the rules of present continuous tense.
4. (Elaborate) Elaborate the rules of present continuous tense.
