GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follow the Velaa service standards, service sequence, standard operational
procedures, policies and most of all reflect the values of Velaa Private Island
• Manage, organize and control all maintenance works, repairs, general building
• Ensure a clean, organized, safe and orderly work area and ensures that the safety
procedures for the resort operation are understood and in place
• Oversees routine carpentry and painting work as needed for all facilities
• Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve any issues
• Manage the scope, schedule and costs of projects using appropriate verification
techniques, including planning & execution
• Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary
• Effective people management & training of the team

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a luxury hotel/resort. Experience in
Maldives will be an added advantage
• Experience of setting up Preventative Maintenance Systems
• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field will be an advantage
• Technical education in Civil Engineering & familiar with AutoCAD is preferable
• Organized & flexible with high level of focus on results
• Proficiency in IT with knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent communication and people skills - be able to lead and motivate the team
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
• Strong problem solving skills with flexibility throughout the operation
