“What defines us is How well we rise after a downfall.”

Failure make us weak, but it is a blessing in disguise that God gave to us to teach us a lesson in Life. Life
has no shortcuts for us to reach the desired place we want to be. It takes a lot of time and effort for us
to be there. But sometimes we fell short to meet the standard of success and we thought that’s the end
of our journey. God wants us to realize that making shortcuts are not worth it. Because He wanted us to
be a living testimony when the time comes and represent the goodness of the Lord and how His mercy
revive us after a downfall.

We need to Trust His plan for whatever we will do, because He knows everything even the total number
of hairs strand we have. Failure is God’s way of telling us that we do not need shortcuts for us to be
satisfied, only through Him we will find peace and fulfillment.

As what God have promised to Prophet Isaiah, “When the poor and needy seek water, and there is
none, and their tongue failed for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake
them” (Isaiah 41:17). God is trying to reach us to Trust Him whatever problems, failures or even
calamities we are on right now. We only need to believe in Him and wait for His answers for the
problem. He never fails to love us and to care for us.

It depends on our perspective in life that make us strong enough to face failures and rise after a defeat.
God wanted us to be a well-trained follower of Him for whoever persecute us will leave us for God is
within our lives. He will never leave us even if we feel an emptiness in our hearts. As what Jason Mason
point out, “Pray until we pray.” Do not give up on yourself, because God will never leave us no matter
what happened.

“Don’t measure your success by what others have and haven’t done.”

We have different stories and different experiences that defines who we are today. We have lessons
that we’ve learned while dealing with the problems that we thought will not end. Perhaps, we thought
that one’s success is same with what we must reach in life. We tend to compare ourselves to other
people to measure what we accomplished and what we will be reaching in the future. We adapt other
people’s standard of success to meet the expectation of ourselves. Because we thought we are lacking
but we are enough to create our own standard of success.

This week I realized that we don’t need to compare our self to other people’s achievement,
because we are not identical to the things they experienced and encountered. Each of us have our own
path to walk through. Not because your friend is on the peak of his or her success we considered our
self a failure. We have our own success in many ways in life. It may be in our own career, our own
family, in making friends and many more. Success is always present in our life. It maybe simple but the
success is not defined as how simple we may reach, it always measures on how we are grateful to reach
that milestone in life and giving back the things we received through giving glory to God who is the
sustainer of life.

“Reflect upon your present blessings—of which every man has many—not on your past misfortunes, of
which all men have some.”-Charles Dickens

Last week we went to Pasay City, Manila for our feasibility study, we went there to look for the actual
prices of the materials that are used for upholstery. We stayed in Manila for three days and have many
thoughts that we ponder while observing its environment. As what Friedrich Nietzsche, “All truly great
thoughts are conceived while walking.” As me and my groupmates walking outside to buy some food in
7-eleven, we saw a homeless man sleeping beside the sidewalk near the store. At first, we are surprised
because we thought it is a dead person but we realized he is just sleeping there. One of my groupmates
said, “We are blessed because we have place to stay every day.” I realized that sometimes we tend to
overreact and complain about the things that we encounter in our daily life, but we don’t even think
about other people who suffer so much having no one to help them and chose.

“One way you can please your heavenly Father is to trust Him – fully and completely!”

-Brenda Walsh

It is our duty to cling and trust in God whenever there are things bad and good that happened in our
Life. It is considered as lessons and blessings respectively for us to be wholistic based on Christlike
Character. He never wanted us to be away from Him and devour by sins. He sent His only son for us to
be saved and be redeemed, yet we still love to cling to sins and doubt Him whenever there are chaos,
problems and disappointments happened to us. God never allowed something to happen on our life
that we can never overcome for God wanted us to be fully equipped and be able to discern sin and be
able to gain victory over it.

But we are useless if we don’t rely to God and we are powerless in nature. We must trust in Him so that
we will be able to conquer the sins that cling to us since we came into the world. The nature of sins that
instilled in us will be destroyed and shattered as we surrender our will and life in God fully and
completely.

Our hope must be with God and not with other material things in the world. Soon, the son of God will
return to the world for us to gather His precious jewels.

“No storm or tempest can move those whose feet are planted on the principles of eternal truth.”

-Maranatha p. 206

Living in the world of doubts and deceptions can obviously not be considered as a safe world to live in.
God never wanted to us to live with this kind of world that’s why God prepare for us a place in His
heavenly Kingdom for us to live with Him harmoniously and give praises to Him forever and ever. That is
the ideal plan God wanted us to be with Him, but we need to be transformed wholly through living what
God wanted us to be. But it is still our choice if we are willing to be transformed or not. He never wanted
us to be lost because of sin.

If we just planted our life through God’s standard and principles, we will not be able to be uprooted to
the teachings and beliefs that God wanted us to mount in our lives. As what Ellen White wants us to
understand, that there will be no storm and any calamities that may uproot us if we are rooted to the
one who is the source of eternal truth and grounded us for us to grow in His side.

“Do something every day to improve, beautify and ennoble the life that Christ has purchased with His
own blood.”

Ministry of Healing, p. 491

It is not our own life, we are just steward of this life that God lend for us to give back the praises He
deserves and glorify His divinity in every aspect of our life. A lot of people overlooked the essence of life
and tends to end it on their own way, term, and time. Without knowing the purpose of why we live in
this world. Sometimes, we pushed people off out of their track and let them feel worthless. But God
wanted us to do something to beautify the life we have in this world even though this is not the world
God originally designed for us to live in. It is just a temporary world for His creation to improve and be
better.

We need to bear on our minds that even though you’re having a bad day, find something in it that will
make you feel better, because Jesus Christ purchased our life with His own blood to redeem us from
sins.
