Juppo Sessho - Sven

" Sensei said to me that Juppo Sessho is the highest level of what
we are
learning (doing) higher then Kuji and Kuji Kiri. It is a concept
very hard
to understand or to grasp. But I will take me the freedom to express
my own
feelings about the subject to you:

I personally see Juppo as "Total" and Sessho as "Interaction", and

as them
being united it is for me to be able to interact with the wholeness.
For
not only to the degree that we are made whole will our actions,
lifestyle
and relationship be wholesome. Only if you are whole you can create
a full a
clear shadow and only if you are able to control your ego, to put it
aside,
is it possible to really be able to hide in your own shadow.

Juppo Sessho is the heart of Budo, which follows the essence of

religion.
And it's not to make us good, but to make us whole...

You talk about balance, I see that as the essential in life as it is

also
the key to the concept of Ko Teki Ruyda (Tiger and Dragon). Where
the tiger
represent the young and strong and walk on earth, therefore is the
reality,
and the dragon represent the heaven, our dreams our goals, our
visions. The
dragon is old and wise and represent the imaginary world.

But if we only walk alone with the tiger, the tiger can, or will
strike us
down to never let us up again. If we only seek comfort in the
dragons arms
he will embrace us and never let us go. So we have to find the
balance
between the reality and your dreams to be able to not be striked by
the
tiger or held be the dragon. This is how we will be able to survive,
to feel
love, and to be loved. We, as humans must find balance in
everything, in the
totality of our life, our actions and our relationships, we must
interact
with the totality of nature, expounding it to be able to express our
self - to be wholesome.

Side note:
Bujinkan Dojo, Koteki Ryuda Juppo Sessho “Ko” means “tiger” --
tactician, techniques; and “ryu” means “dragon” -- strategist, time/
space. Thus, the strategy of the dragon creates the time/space for
the tiger to execute the techniques."

"Juppo Sessho is understanding all the possible relationships that

can happen in a given exchange. One can move past the formal
technique (waza) to apply the most natural and unexpected movements
to wrap up, confuse and dismay your opponent."

Juppo sessho isn’t something that you can specifically learn. It is

the culmination of all the things you have learned about balance,
rhythm, timing, and distance, combined with a micro-management to
the 9th degree of the kukan, the space within which an aggressive
negotiation takes place.

Juppo sessho is your very own expression of a human being.
