IMPORTANT
• You will be issued with study notes.
• You will not be given an extra copy if it is misplaced
• Each week you would be given study notes corresponding to the topic.
• You are expected to read your textbook and do copious online reading to
augment these notes

• Theory
– 2 double periods per week (??)
– Venues: Mondays: 4B
Tuesdays: T2

• Facilitated Activity
– The first few weeks would be devoted to presenting ethical theories;
Students must follow class activity and would be advised on when
these class assignments would take place.
– It is compulsory that students attend these activity weeks and
feedback sessions. They will not be repeated
– Students cannot submit this portion of the work as take-home
assignments, all measures will be put in place to ensure this!!
– You must keep your activity work book safe, there will be no re-issue,
there will be no re-mark for any reason.
– Write in pen through out, if you cancel anything on this book, ask the
Lecturer to immediately sign and date it.

Assessments
• Tests (20% to semester mark)
– 2 tests, both compulsory.
– Test 1: See module outline
– Test 2: See module outline
– Tests will cover up to work done 1 week before the test.
Remember that this course has two components and in all the tests you
would be tested on both. You are advised in your head to treat them as
separate, don’t hope to pass by doing well in only one aspect!!!
• Assignment (30% to semester mark)
• There will be 2 assignments, each worth 15% ( I am concerned with the
biotechnology and biomedical ethics component)
– Activity workbook has two segments:
– The class activity that must be done in class!
Both carry 10%
– The take-home segment
– Weekly online quizzes the entire semester will carry 5%
NOTE: YOU CAN ONLY DO THE ONLINE QUIZZES IF YOU ARE PRESENT
