Title: Healthcare Growth Equity Associate
Company Background:
Our client provides expansion and growth capital to commercial-stage specialty pharmaceutical, medical
technology, and healthcare services companies, the latter including businesses focused on cost
containment and digital health. They believe that these investment areas are attractive largely due to
numerous niche market sub-segments and business models where high-quality management teams can
rapidly grow small platform companies, in a capital efficient way, into large and important businesses.
The firm targets $15-$30 million investments in commercial healthcare entities that have the potential
to scale to approximately $100 to $150 million of revenue, a highly attractive level for acquisition or to
access the public markets.
Position:
The Associate will be a key member of the fund team and as such will be involved in all aspects of the
investment process, including but not limited to diligence, execution, and monitoring of investments.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sourcing and review of fund investment opportunities and tracking of internal deal flow
Participation in the due diligence and investment approval process, including preparing due
diligence requests, on-site travel, data analysis, financial modeling, and reference / research
calls
Ongoing portfolio management responsibilities across companies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the healthcare growth equity investment environment and i
ndustry landscape
Desired Skills and Experience:
The target candidate has 2 - 4 years in healthcare experience from a top investment bank. Successful
candidates will have the following qualities:
Corporate finance and valuation knowledge and the ability to understand the key drivers of
portfolio company performance and fund level returns
Strong writing skills and experience authoring investment proposals or similar recommendations
Superior financial modeling capability with high attention to detail
Sense of ownership of work product and the ability to handle several projects
simultaneously and prioritize work based on deadlines
Ability to communicate across multiple levels of seniority, both internally and externally, with a
high level of general partner interaction
Ability to draw specific conclusions about individual fund investment opportunities using both
quantitative and qualitative data points
