The Olive Branch is a symbol of peace, harmony and healing.
Olive trees provide shelter, as well as oil used for ointment and
consecration. The Olive Branch also represents deliverance
from hardships and anxiety because a dove brought an olive
leaf back to Noah’s ark after the flood ended (Genesis 8:11)

who purchased gifts; thank you to those who helped wrap the gifts; and thank you to all of you who helped de-

during this Christmas season and throughout the coming year.

have been here for a few years. You will be amazed at what wonderful materials are available for
you here in your church library!
There will be a library work day on Thursday, January 6, from 9:00 a.m. until noon to
process new materials. Please join Elizabeth in the library on this day to help out. If you can type,
file, or label things there will be something for you to do. If you wonder if there will be something
that you can help with, call Elizabeth Lawler at 621-8274 to find out.
All helping hands will be welcomed!
Sharing and Caring in January
Use the Hunger Carts are always in the main entryways. You can help make sure the shelves of the
Pulaski Area Food Pantry are filled during these cold winter months. Bring your gifts of nonperishable food.
Use the ―Hunger Box‖ in the ―Gathering Space‖ or the Hunger Envelopes on the table in the entryway
and in the Gathering Space to share gifts of money for hungry people around the world.
Use the offering plate to help share the Gospel in East Africa. All money not in offering envelopes on
January 27 & 30 will be sent to help the TPC congregation do God’s work in Tanzania.
Use Sunday School offering envelopes and you’ll help Sunday School kids in Liberia.
Information is available on the tables in the Gathering Area explaining the process of calling of a ―2nd Pastor‖,
and also giving information as to what a ―2nd Pastor‖ at Peace would do. If you cannot find what you are
looking for, please contact Carla in the Church Office.
A Call Committee has been put together by the Executive Committee of the Church Council. Their names will
be announced during the Annual Meeting if we elect to call a ―2nd Pastor‖.
There will be 2 informational forums on the budget which includes a second pastor and part-time administra-
tive assistant. They will be conducted on January 16th and 23rd at 9:15 in the Chapel for those who would
like a closer look at the budget information, or have any questions.

Thank you to Paul & Eilene Thormodsgard for the donation of the battery powered hand held candles used
for the 7:00 & 9:00 Christmas Eve candlelight services.
Thank you to everyone who purchased poinsettias this year. The church looked beautiful for Christmas
Eve services. Thanks also to Ken Jensen for his work. The profits will be split between the Pulaski Pantry
and Freedom House.
Thank you to Pam Schuelke for coordinating the Sunday School Christmas Program.
Thank you to all the teachers, helpers, shepherds, and sheepdogs for their dedication to the children and
youth in the Sunday School Preschool, Rotational, Power Hour and MERGE programs.
Thank you to all the volunteers who make Peace Lutheran Church what it is today.
12/12/10—That may be a date you will probably remember for a long time.
Some may call it “The Great Blizzard of 2010”. I’m sure it changed some of
your plans. It did cause us to cancel church.
We’re glad everyone was able to stay safe. We are not happy we could not wor-
ship together. We are also not happy that there was no offering on that Sunday.
December was a critical financial time for the church. What members give in
December often helps decide how we end one year and begin another. We
hope you did use the December 12th envelope you didn’t get to use because of
“The Great Blizzard…” We truly appreciate the gifts you give, especially the
ones you can give right NOW.
