1.0 PURPOSE
Purpose of this method statement is to define the sequence of Refurbishment of Electrical Facilities at
Floating Pontoon Structure at Sohar Port.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK

This procedure will define the method to be used to ensure the Design,Supply Installation of DB’s, Testing
and Commissioning, and workmanship are acceptable, correct and safe and conforms the contract
documents and specifications.

o Installation and Supply of DB’s

o Installation of Service Pedestals
o Cabling from the Pontoon’s DB to the Main DB.
o Testing of Existing Cables
o Commissioning of Electrical and Water Works.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

o The below personnel of Sohar Port and/or ARC Energy and Telecom Company shall be responsible
for usage of this Method Statement.
4o Communication plan identified herein for which Sohar Port & ARC Energy and Telecom Company
shall be responsible properly execution of issuance, approval and/or updating of this Method
Statment

4.0 DEFINITIONS / ABBREVIATIONS

SP: Refers to Sohar Port, the client.
ARC Energy: refers to ARC Energy and Telecom Company, the contractor.
SP Codes: mean those policies and procedure that ARC Energy and Telecom is required to comply with
when performing its obligations in case of agreement.
Business Day: means Saturday through Thursdays, inclusive, but does not include national, public, or bank
holidays in the Sultanate of Oman. If the day on or by which anything is to be done is not a business day,
that thing must be done on or by the next business day; otherwise, it should be mutually agreed between
ARC Energy and SA.

Business Hours: mean the hours between 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM on a Business Day Saturday through
Thursday.
Change Control Procedure: means the procedure governing the initiation, evaluation, acceptance and
implementation of any Change.
Charges: means the charges and fees for the services to be paid by SA to ARC Energy and which are set
out in ARC Energy price schedule.
Deliverable: means the output of the services.
Parties: means SA and ARC Energy collectively, and "Party" shall mean any one of them as determined by
the context.
Personnel: means officers, directors, employees, workers and agents (including any persons hired as
consultants or contract staff) engaged from time to time by ARC Energy to perform any Services required.
Relationship Manager: means each SP and ARC Energy designated project managers appointed pursuant.
Services: means the services, activities, functions and responsibilities to be performed and provided by
ARC Energy to SA as set out in this Method Statement;
Service Level: means the qualitative and quantitative performance levels required to be achieved by ARC
Energy in respect of the Services.
ARC Energy Tools: means all tools, methods, processes, templates, reports, concepts and techniques and
other used by ARC Energy in the provision of the Services.

Personal Protection Equipment: PPE will be provided and used in accordance with ARC Energy HSE
manual. Helmet, safety glasses, high visibility vest, and safety shoes will be used at all times. Personnel
working at high places will use approved safety harnesses. When the environment is dusty, personnel will
use protective half masks.

5.0 MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT

The below equipment will be required to complete the Refurbishment of Electrical facilities at Sohar Port

7.0 EXECUTION / SERVICES
 STEPS IN INSPECTION AND CORRECTION OF ELECTRICAL FACILITIES AT SOHAR PORT :-
o This activity schedule is to be used only as a guide and activities can be performed in any order to facilitate
the work activity.
o Arrange all tools and equipment at site (need to be arrange Gate Pass)
o To Check the Continuity of the Cable
o Take the Reading of the Cables
o Base Plate to install the Service Pedestals.

 TESTING AND COMMISSIONING WORKS

On completion of the corrective action and modification, Inspection tests will be carried out again in the presence of
the client’s representative and will be carried out in compliance with the SA regulations and contract specifications.
Test reports will be submitted to the the client to be signed for test acceptance.

8.0 MAN-POWER AND RESOURCES.

ARC Energy will dedicate one or more fully equipped team(s) to perform the Refurbishment works of
Electrical Facilities for Sohar Port Project. The team will include:
 One Supervisor/Engineer
 Three Technicians
 Three Helpers
 One HSE Engineer
 One Electrician
 One Plumber
 All necessary tools and equipment to perform the job as per the manufacturer’s standards as well the
international standards
 All consumables required to perform the Job.

Matrix is initiated in case a problem or ticket Escalation. The escalation will always be initiated to the Project

ARC Energy and Company confirms that, we strictly comply with SP standards.
ARC Energy and Company is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 Certified.

13.0 HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

ARC Energy is OHSAS 18001:2007 Certified
ARC Energy Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE), plans including procedures, inspections, audits that
will be followed during all project related activities attached in schedule in Attachment No. 3

Equipment (PPE) properties such as but not limited to type, model and certification attached in
schedule in Attachment No. 4
