CHIEF RADIOGRAPHER
General Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology Technology or equivalent
A minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience working in a radiology practice
At least five (5) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in Radiology Department in an
acute-care hospital
Ability to work with various imaging modalities including CT scanner
Knowledge and high level of competence in other specialist procedures (e.g. General X-Ray,
Angiography or MRI, and Ultrasound)
Proven experience in administration and supervision of staff
Strong clinical background with outstanding leadership and communication skills
Highly developed interpersonal skills
Good command of spoken and written English
Job Specification
Provides Prepare staffing schedules and duty assignments for radiographic technician and
operations
Coordinates education programs in the department and participates in-service education
programs for other hospital personnel
Appraises and counsel employees in regards to performance, conduct attendance and other
related matters
Assists the radiologist in formulating improved programs cumulating in faster and better
service to the patient
Direct and coordinate operational activities of radiology department and be accountable for
maintaining high quality and efficient service, technical aspects and customer-service wise
Ensure patient care during medical imaging for optimal diagnostic purpose of advanced
nature
Responsible for radiographic quality assurance and in carrying out the radiation-safety
manager role
Provide professional support and precise advice to patients, radiographers, nurses and other
allied health professionals
Investigate and take appropriate action in accordance with hospital policy with regard to
complaints and/or incidents
Help ensure all hospital policies and relevant up to date information is disseminated to staff
and complied with
Prepare departmental statistics and various other reports as required
Perform clerical as well as management duties when needed
Recommends and directs procurement of supplies and equipment, responsible for proper
storage and utilization of such materials and performs weekly store checking and requisitions
Responsible for testing and evaluation of new equipment, products and reports on their
application to the hospital administration
Responsible for monitoring of all Radiology machines or instruments and reports promptly
any malfunction or breakdown
Maintains administrative control of the Diagnostic and Imaging services
Completion of other related tasks as directed by the CEO
