GETTING ONLINE
Learning to access your online classes

This year, it is likely that everybody is

going to experience online learning at
some point - even if it's only for a few
days while you're home sick. Thus it is
very important that you learn how to
access your online classes.

If you are accessing online material

through a Mountain View teacher, you
will be using the platform Canvas. The
following link has tutorials to help you get
onto and navigate Canvas:

You might also have courses through East

Shore Online, accessed through the site:

work - even to the point where your
graduation is at risk!

Here are some things you can do to avoid

getting off-track while you work online:

1. Talk to your counselor! Your

counselor can explain what you need
to be working on and how fast you
need to work to keep up.
2. Set a schedule. Set aside a specific
time and space every day to work on
your classes.
3. Check your progress. At least once
every two weeks, check to see if you

reach out to your counselor for help.
4. Reward your successes! Keeping
yourself motivated is hard. When you
meet your goals, reward yourself!

ONLINE
College and Career
Readiness
As counselors, we meet with you every year to give you important information
regarding your education and your future. In order to best serve the needs of all
our students (including those who are learning from home), we have created an
ALL NEW process for delivering this information.

www.mvhscounseling.weebly.com
Rather than deliver one long presentation, we have created a range of short videos
on specific topics so you can pick and choose what you want to learn about!
For our seniors, we have provided videos and flyers on:

Graduation requirements Applying for college

Qualifying for NCAA Requesting a transcript
The Regents' Scholarship Financial aid

We will send out emails to all seniors and their parents/guardians in September
with links to our CCR page. Emails for juniors and sophomores will come out in the
following months. Please make sure you get on, view the materials that apply to
you, and fill out the accompanying survey so we can continue to serve you!

BRUIN STRONG
CHALLENGE
To build your RESILIENCE, start putting
together a "first aid kit" of things that
make you smile. This can be an actual
kit, or a Pinterest board, or just a
notebook of ideas. The point is to
collect things that make you happy, so
that when you find yourself feeling
down you can open your kit and cheer
yourself up. Sometimes that's all it
takes to get through a tough day!
