MANGA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN

I. INTRODUCTION

The formerly Manga Community School was built in 1951, when the late Teniente del Barrio Felipe S. Mapile donated a lot approximately 10,000 sq. meters situated in
Barrio Manga to serve as school compound. The very first classroom built in that school compound was made out of cogon and bamboo and the pioneer teacher was Mr.
Alfredo Garcia from Caba, La Union. Mr. Garcia taught Grades I and II during that time. As years gone by Manga Community School become Manga Primary School.

It was in 1990, before the destructive earthquake occurred, Mr. Mario Mapile, one of the Barangay folks, requested for additional grade level because parent from that
Barangay was having a hard time in sending their children to other school in the low land to finish their elementary grade. Through the initiative of the District Supervisor, Mr.
Rogelio Labiano, he formally open Grade V with Mrs. Aida Balangue as teacher.

In March 1991, Manga Elementary School held its first Graduation Exercise under the leadership of Mr. Ernesto Manongdo.
