letter from the editor

S o who can really define the DMV in one

word? Shall I pick fabulous? Shall I pick unique?
Or shall I pick expanding? How about, I pick all of
the above, and then some. To define this region
(Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia), you
have to live, breathe, and eat its culture. I can’t
just pick one word to describe this city, because it
cannot be defined or minimized to just one word.
It’s “divinely multifaceted,” just like the people who
reside in it.

To say that I’m excited about this issue finally

launching would be an understatement. So, let’s
just say that I’m ecstatic because it sounds bet-
ter! Coming up with this idea back in September
2008 seems like a long time ago, but it’s really not.
Back then creating mock websites for the maga-
zine and coming up with an incredibly chic name
(that I changed a bunch of times, but that’s just a
sidebar) was just something for me to do to pass
the hours. Who would have thought that all of the time and creativity would have transformed
into something quite fantabulous?

The Dollhouse staff and its contributors endeavor to showcase all of the culture, the fashion,
the entertainment, the lifestyle, and oh-so-more in our city. We are preparing a movement to
take over your DMV. So, in closing, I want to thank everybody who took a part in this produc-
tion, from the graphic layouts to the editorial spreads, photographers, and interns, you guys
are the bestest! Your support is greatly appreciated so I hope you stay along for the ride. This
is merely just a taste for what is to come. So stay tuned, and thanks for being a part of the
brand!

With Love and then some,
