Socrates was an ancient Greek scholar and philosopher, known for the main source
of western intellectuals. His father was a sculptor or stonemason and mother was a
midwife. He was the first philosopher who talks about ethics that what is right and
what is wrong behavior. He also known as moral philosopher. His influential work
was (Socratic Method, Human Wisdom and Socratic Paradox), Socrates love to ask
question, When the political climate of Greece turned against him, Socrates was
sentenced to death by hemlock poisoning in 399 B.C. He accepted this judgment
rather than fleeing into exile. Socrates believed that wisdom comes from knowing
oneself.
Most of we know Socrates from his student Plato, Socrates himself wrote no book.
In one dialogue reported by Plato, Socrates challenges his friend Euthyphro to
define what action are pious or holy what action is pleasing to the god is pious, his
friend responds. But Socrates refer to contradict himself
Have we not said, Euthyphro, that there are quarrels and disagreements and hatreds
among the gods? We have, and then you said that just the other another and that
what some of them holds to be honorable or good, other hold to be dishonorable or
evil, and the same thing will be displeasing to them?
