HEALTHY BODY BRIGHT FUTURE

“We are what we eat”. Basically, it means that a myriad of concurrent factors in our life is dependent on
our daily diet. Ever since the dawn of civilization, perhaps even prior to that, food and water has been
the first essentials of survival. In today’s fast paced world, in spite of science offering a wide array of
knowledge on our nutrition requirements, majority of us barely get to contemplate over the nutrition
values present in our food and exactly how numerous benefits are interconnected with the consumption

The average essential calorie intake of an adult ranges from 1600-3000 calories, in respect to sex, weight
and activities. This intake should comprise of a proper ratio of carbohydrates, proteins, fiber, vitamins,
minerals and a moderate quantity of lipids. Besides a proper intake of at least 8 glasses of water a day is
essential to maintain optimum health. Regular exercise combined with a healthy diet is the ultimate key
to obtaining a happy tomorrow. After all, “Health is Wealth”.

However, healthy food need not necessarily be costly. A diet rich in pulses, eggs and whole grains are
just as healthy as any wholesome diet of fish-meat-bread. An interesting feature that can help
remember the nutrient benefits of is the color of natural food. Red/Purple/Blue food such as
strawberries, beets and kidney beans are great for maintaining healthy heart and sharp memory.
Orange and Yellow foods as in carrots, pumpkins, oranges etc. are a boon for better vision. Green
vegetables and fruits are really important as they have high calcium contents. These include broccoli,
cabbages, pears, kiwis etc. White foods such as mushroom, onions and cauliflowers are a really good
source of fiber for the body. All in all, consuming naturally colorful food is a healthy choice for all of us.

A recent problem when it comes to healthy food is the issue of preservative contamination. In our
country the illegal use of harmful preservatives in various foods including vegetables and fruits has
brought about a devastating scenario for the ordinary people. Therefore, it is ideal to immerse fruits,
veggies and fishes in water for a couple of hours and finally wash those properly before serving or
cooking. Better yet, mix a few teaspoons of vinegar or acetic acid in the water to get rid of any harmful
preservatives or chemicals present in the food items. It is a great idea to start growing some winter
vegetables at the trace or balcony. Harvesting fresh and pure veggies has a splendid feeling which is
indeed worth a try!

Healthy food is essential for the proper mental and physical growth of children irrespective of gender.
There should never be any gender discriminations in terms of their access to healthy food. Only the can

Healthy food increases immunity, efficiency and optimism in children. It is the foundation of a brighter
future and enlightened accomplishments. Therefore, it is undeniably important to make sure that
children have access to healthy food to fulfill their nutrition requirements and venture upon the
stairway to a BRIGHT FUTURE!
