Question 1:

a) You beat somebody at chess.

Answer: yes this shows the intelligence because it is a strategic and discrete learn
and do situation where we have to learn to adapt and select or able to move the
pieces along with the opponent move and strategy. We can hardcode every
possible move in this scenario so obviously, it is inelegancy.

b) You prove a mathematical theorem using a set of known axioms.

Answer: Following instruction is robotic and didn’t show any intelligence. We
can see a circus animal can follow the instruction that doesn’t mean this animal is
intelligent. Yes slightly adopting with the environment can show that it is
intelligence but in that case, it isn’t intelligence. I am a human being so in a
humanly way I am intelligent but on the other hand, a calculator can do the same
but it is not intelligent.

c) You need to buy some supplies, meet three different colleagues,

return books to the library,

and exercise. You plan your day in such a way that everything is
achieved in an efficient manner.

Answer: Rules or logic can’t be defined as Intelligence. As some

researcher said

AI is concerned with methods of achieving goals in situations in which

the information available has a certain complex character. The methods
that have to be used are related to the problem presented by the
situation and are similar whether the problem solver is human, a
Martian, or a computer program.” [McCarthy, 1988]
Intelligence usually means “the ability to solve hard problems”.
[Minsky, 1985]

So as we can see any if-else condition and optimization algorithm

can do the work efficiently, So it can’t be called intelligence.

d) You are a lawyer who is asked to defend someone. You recall

three similar cases in which the defendant was guilty, and you turn
down the potential client.

Answer: Learning from previous incident or occurrence surely

shows some intelligence. We can say that in our daily

life, Computer suggesting us based on our move suggesting a

song, maintaining and solving error from the previous incident

I am not calling this intelligent because we can hardcode

and without AI we can do this with the algorithm so we can’t call

an algorithm that it is intelligent.

it has to produce something new which he hasn’t been thought of.

We can search history or any web scrapper can bring this

information if the elegantly configure to do this.

e) A stranger passing you on the street notices your watch and

asks, “Can you tell me the time?” You say, “It is 3:00.”

Answer: Any interactive clock can also tell that by asking them time,
It contains only command and answer process. We can simply
 acquire this or implement on a machine without any machine
learning or artificial intelligence involved.

f) You are told to find a large Phillips screwdriver in a cluttered

workroom. You enter the room (you have never been there
before), search without falling over objects, and eventually find the
screwdriver.

Answer: Without knowing surroundings we can conquer any object

by actuators and search algorithm, but in a 3D world it requires
more, If we know the surroundings we can implement this but as
that have been said i never there before so i need some common
sense , to find the objects from this without falling over anything. It
requires intelligence.

g)You are a six-month-old infant. You can produce sounds with your
vocal organs, and you

can hear speech sounds around you, but you do not know how to
make the sounds you are

hearing. In the next year, you figure out what the sounds of your
parents' language are and

how to make them.

Answer : Intelligence means acquire knowledge and apply the

knowledge according to it. so we can say that yes that is intelligence
because a baby is acquiring knowledge on how to speak or vocabulary
from the environment and then they apply the skill in real-time.
i) Someone taps a rhythm, and you are able to beat along with it and
to continue it even after it stops.

Answer: Answer: Generating rhythms and match the beat is a sign of

intelligence, It is called Musical/Rhythmic Intelligence it is a field of artificial
intelligence. It is a continuous process that requires learning and finds a pattern
between rhythm and tempo.

j) You are some sort of primitive invertebrate. You know nothing

about how to move about

in your world, only that you need to find food and keep from bumping
into walls. After

lots of reinforcement and punishment, you get around just fine.

Answer: Invertebrate means without bone or boneless such as octopus,

jellyfish, butterfly. As we know they don’t show any intelligence they
just follow there instinct they eat, live, reproduce, they don’t maintain
any course to achieve something, However, bees or octopus are known
for some cognitive action color reorganization pattern learning. But it
doesn’t prove something, the scientist has been said they have
encoded in there genetics so that’s why they follow this instinct. we can
relate this with our computer, it doesn’t know much and follows only
logic-based rules thus it isn’t intelligent. So no it doesn’t

Answer: Yes that can be done by current AI agent. Stamford

university and Michigan University already implemented this. There
is AI Agent named OMRON . Which can play decent table tennis

b) Drive autonomously along a curving mountain road

Answer: The famous elon mask company already introduced us there

tesla car which is AI agent and can drive in busy traffic it is tested
and already using by user. It can detect any collision occur, not only
his but also surrounding cars and can takes measure automatically.
It is an wonderful creation or beauty of IOT and robotics. Great
achievement indeed.

c)Drive autonomously in the center of Agrabad, Chittagong.

Answer: Yes, As mentioned above tesla car can also handled pretty
hazardous environment as in chattogram driver drive there car
recklessly.

b) Discover and prove a new mathematical theorem

Answer: Scientist found the longer prime number using super

computer but that doesn’t mean AI can come up with new
mathematical theorem. They can perform optimizing the algorithm I
don’t think it is can perform by the current AI state
c) Write an intentionally funny story

Answer: There has been rumor that an AI created by facebook was

tries to write or attempt to communicate with other AI and they
forced to shut it down, as machine don’t have humor .and don’t
have any artistic mind yet they can perform some algorithmic
calculation to come up with pattern if it can categorized in abstract
art so far . But i don’t think AI can perform or able to write funny
story as they don’t know what is “funney” means. Logic can’t be
funny.

d) Give competent legal advice in a specialized area of law

Answer: Simply no. legal advice or judging complex emotion of
human? i don’t think so AI are capable of it

e) Translate spoken English into spoken Swedish in real time

Answer: Yes, It already done by several company such as : google
yahoo bing and also integrated this on there platform

f) Plan schedule of operations for a NASA spacecraft

Answer: As it is sensitive issue. We can tell last time bangobondu
satellite launch was delayed because in the last moment AI
stepped in and cancel the ignition. So to ensure all system
normality yes AI agent are already doing it.

g) Defeat the world champion in chess

 Answer: Yes AI are already capable to learn and defeat the word
champion in chess. Kasprove who is famous for his strategy and
followed for his move also lost against AI agent.

Can you solve the 8 queens’ problem? That is, can you place 8

orientation of the queens on the

chessboard. If not, prove mathematically why not?
