The PEO’s of Electronics and Communication Engineering is prepared and the expected
outcomes are also provided as below

1. Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):


I. To prepare students in fundamental concept to excel in post graduate
Programme and Cater to the needs of the industry through rigorous education.
II. To develop the students with the design concepts and technical knowledge to
solve and analyze engineering problems.
III. To provide training on recent areas of interrupt in electronics as well as
communication engineering concepts to enhance the creativity for developing
novel products for real time problems .
IV. To create the awareness of continuous learning, professional ethics, benefits of
team work and necessity of better communication skills for better professional
practice with social concern.
V. To provide a conductive academic learning environment to inculcate the
qualities of leadership, excellence in professional career and to develop the
confidence for long time learning for successful professional career.
2. Programme Outcomes:
a) Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of differential equations, vector
calculus, probability theory, matrices, Technical skills, physics, chemistry, electron
devices and electrical circuits.
b) Graduates will demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate and solve
electronics engineering problems.
c) Graduate will demonstrate an ability to design electrical and electronic
circuits and conduct experiments with electrical systems, analyze and interpret
data.
d) Graduates will demonstrate an ability to design digital and analog
systems and component.
e) Graduates will demonstrate an ability to visualize and work on
laboratory and multi-disciplinary tasks.
f) Graduate will demonstrate skills to use modern engineering tools,
software and equipment to analyze problems.
g) Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of professional and ethical
responsibilities.
h) Graduate will be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written
form.
i) Graduate will show the understanding of impact of engineering solutions on
the society and also will be aware of contemporary issues.
j) Graduate will develop confidence for self education and ability for life-long
learning.
k) Graduate who can participate and succeed in competitive examinations like
GATE, GRE.
SUBJECT: COMMUNICATION THEORY

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

 To provide various Amplitude modulation and demodulation systems


 To provide various Angle modulation and demodulation systems.
 To provide some depth analysis in noise performance of various receiver.
 To study some basic information theory with some channel coding theorem
 To study spread spectrum techniques

TOPICS: Generation and Demodulation of AM, DSBSC, SSB and VSB Signals, Single
tone, Narrow Band and Wideband FM, Noise – Shot noise, Thermal noise and white noise,
Narrow band noise, Noise temperature; Noise Figure, FM threshold effect; Pre-emphasis and
De-emphasis in FM, Shannon-Fano coding, Huffman coding, Lempel-Ziv (LZ)
coding,Shannon’s Theorem, Channel Capacity.

CONTRIBUTION TO OUTCOMES:

 An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to the


analysis and design of communication systems
 An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems in the area of
circuits and systems.
 An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern programming tools such as
Matlab, necessary for engineering practice.
 An ability to function within multi-disciplinary teams 
 An ability to design a system, components or process to meet desired needs within
realistic constraints
 Ability to evaluate fundamental communication system parameters, such as
bandwidth, power, signal to quantization noise ration, and data rate.
 Understanding practical implementation issues, such as non-ideal filters, non-ideal
sampling pulses, aliasing, and intersymbol-interference (ISI)
