MESSAGE FOR PARISHIONERS
The Corona Virus has changed our world. It
is difficult to get used to the new regulations
and restrictions as we gather in smaller
numbers and observe “social distance” from
each other – the very opposite of community
and community of worship. There is no
obligation to go to Mass during this time of
pandemic. Many are nervous and you
should not be worried about missing Mass.
But we do miss you and you are in our
prayers. You are still a cherished member
of our parish. You can join us via the parish
radio or webcam (All Masses at weekends &
weekdays from St. Michael’s Church,
Portarlington are transmitted).

SEASON OF CREATION
The Season of Creation is celebrated
annually by tens of thousands of Christians
around the world, During the Season of
Creation we pray and act to protect God’s
creation. The season is a special time for
pray, some of us do hands on projects,
some of us advocate. The momentum
continues long after the season ends. By
seeding ongoing prayer, changes in lifestyle
the season grows in our communities each
year.
Some ways to care for creation
*use reusable bags for shopping.
*refill a reusable water container instead of
buying bottled water.
* pick up litter when you see it
* donate unwanted blankets, towels or
pillows to an animal shelter
* minimize water when washing teeth or
cleaning and washing dishes
*if you cannot recycle it don’t buy it
*buy products with little or no packaging
*Take unwanted clothing and other items to
a donation centre.
*be mindful of animals and their habitats
when exploring outdoors. Do not touch or
remove them.
*buy only what you need buy local, buy
ethical. Buy organic.

