COURSE TITLE : Media and Information Literacy CONSULTATION HOUR : 6 hours and 40 minutes
COURSE DESCRIPTION :
The course introduces the learners to basic understanding of media and information as channels of communication and tools for the development of individuals
and societies. It also aims to develop students to be creative and critical thinkers as well as responsible users and competent producers of media and information.
COURSE OUTCOMES :
At the end of the learning experience, the learners must be able to:
COGNITIVE: 1. demonstrate understanding of media and information literacy (MIL) and MIL related concepts;;
AFFECTIVE: 2. manifest the value of responsible use of media and information; and
PSYCHOMOTOR: 3. develop a media campaign on the responsible use of media and information .

GRADING SYSTEM
As per Dep Ed order no.36 s. 2016, students’ grade should be based on the three major areas (WW- Written Work, PT- Performance Task, and QA- Quarterly
Assessment). For Oral Communication in Context which is considered as a CORE SUBJECT, the computation of grades for the given area are as follows:
WRITTEN WORK - 25%
PERFORMANCE TASK- 50%
QUARTERLY ASSESSMENT- 25%
TOTAL - 100%
CLASSROOM POLICY
The learner is expected to be present, punctual, pay attention and participate actively.
The learner is expected to take all quizzes and examinations on the scheduled dates.
The learner’s responsibility is to come to class prepared. He/ She should have perused the assigned topics prior to class.
All learners are enjoined to be principled and praiseworthy.
