ABSTRACT
An enormous growth has been observed in number of passengers travelling by Indian railway
has be increased significantly in the pilgrim season due to rapid urbanization. The passengers
are in high density inside the station premises course the operation time particularly in ingress,
egress and transfer of trains at sub-urban transit stations. This paper is a try and check the
levels of importance and satisfaction perceived by passengers with recognize to amenities on
platforms within the State of Kerala, India. Present study is carried out in pilgrim area of
railway stations in Kerala state namely, Palakkad Junction, Thrissur, Kottayam, Chengannur
and Trivandrum Central which has the highest annual passenger of boarding and alighting.
Inventory survey technique is used to collect the primary and secondary data and using this
data passenger amenities, safety and facilities in platform like seats, water supply, cleanliness,
etc. are studied as per Indian railway works manual. Findings of this study are expected to be
useful for policymakers working on the idea of world-magnificence stations.

1. GENERAL STYLE

Manuscript should not exceed Eight PAGES including reference, figures and tables. The rest of this
document is general information regarding manuscript style.
Title: A good title (a) briefly defines the subject, (b) indicates the purpose of contribution, and
(c) gives important, high-impacts words early. Besides being descriptive, the title should be short,
usually less than 15 words except in unusual circumstances. Titles should not contain abbreviations
excessive notation, or proprietary names; and authors should avoid using unusual and outdated
terminology. Title must be in 16 pt bold and uppercase font.
Each new paragraph must be indented. The indent should be 5mm or 0.2”. All text should be
fully justified. No underlines or footnotes. The text should be in clear, concise, and proper English,
type in 12 point Times New Roman font or equivalent.
Acknowledgements if it exists should appear at the end of the text, before the references.
2. FONTS AND LAYOUTS
The whole texts that appear in the paper should be consistently Times New Roman font, except
symbols used in equations. All paragraphs are 5 mm or 0.2” indented for the first line, and the line
spacing is set exactly at 1.15 (Multiple) with 0.6 line (After).
2.1 Layout and Fonts of the Main Text
Manuscripts should be prepared using Times New Roman, 12 pt font size. Book or journal titles
and foreign words and phrases, etc. should be italicized. Symbolization used in mathematical
formulae may be accompanied by marginal notes that identify the foreign characters (first
occurrence only) for the typesetter. Manuscript, in general, should be organized in the following
order: (A) Title (include a short running head); (B) names and affiliations of authors (with
addresses and e-mail); (C) Abstract; (D) Keywords (words not included in the title); (E)
Introduction; (F) Methods (e.g., techniques, procedures, materials); (G) Results; (H) Discussion [it
is suggested not to merge results and discussion]; (I) Conclusions; (J) Acknowledgments; (K)
Literature Cited. Tables and figures should be appropriately placed. Minimum number of pages are
six.
3. HEADINGS
3.1 The First Level Headings
For example, “1. INTRODUCTION”, should be Times New Roman 12-point boldface,
capitalized, flush left.
3.2 The Second Level Headings
As in this heading, they should be Times New Roman 12-pt boldface, initially capitalized, flush
left.
3.2.1 The third level headings
As in this heading, they should be Times New Roman 12-point boldface, initially capitalized.

4. EQUATIONS
Keep in mind that elaborate equations often extend over several lines with many breaks.
Alternatively, it may be advantageous to group long equations into a "table," which can run across
the full width of the page, thus allowing clearer presentation.

5. UNITS OF MEASURE
The S.I. system of reporting measurements as established by the International Organization for
Standardization in 1960, is required in so far as practical. Other units may be reported in parenthesis
or as the primary units when it would be impossible or inconvenient to convert to the S.I. system.
Equivalent units may be given in parenthesis when tables, figures and maps retain units of the
English system (Customary units).
6. FIGURES AND TABLES
6.1 Location of Figures and Tables
Figures must be originals, computer-generated or drafted, and placed on a numbered page within
the text area where they are discussed. Figures and photographs can be in color, because the
Proceedings will be distributed on CD. However, we will not take any responsibility for its quality
during black and white printing in the proceedings. They should be numbered consecutively and
printed or pasted directly onto the page. Figures and text may appear on the same page, and a
centered caption should appear directly beneath the figure. It is preferable that figures be mounted
in portrait style and figure captions are no longer than two lines. On figures showing graphs, both
axes must be clearly labeled (including units if applicable). Figure 1 is an example of an acceptable
figure.

If a figure or photograph has been published previously, it is necessary for the author to obtain
written approval from the original publisher for reprinting in the conference proceedings.
