NICHE ROUND – 2: TASKS (2020)

Instructions:
Please reach out to the respective cell managers if you require more information on the
tasks or even a detailed view into the functioning of the cells. Please refer to Niche’s club
run presentation for contact details!

Optional:
For brownie points, along with the task for your most preferred cell you could also
submit two original posts of marketing campaigns (similar to what mad over marketing
(M.O.M.) posts) which you think Niche can put up on its social media page. We might
even post these on the Niche social media pages! Plagiarism of any kind will lead to
immediate disqualification.

Here are the tasks associated with the cell of your most preferred choice. Even if you are
applying to multiple cells, it is mandatory to submit one and only one task.

PLACEMENT CELL

1. Prepare a KYC document for any of the following firms:


● AbInbev
● General Mills
● Drum Foods
OR
2. Prepare a 5/6 slide strategic deck on any one the following topics (Best ones to be featured in
our placement preparation material):
 Digital Marketing for FMCG Companies
 Marketing in Indian E-commerce
 Marketing Strategy (end to end steps)
Note:
 A KYC is a Know Your Company, one page document. A good KYC would give general
information about a company and highlight their marketing campaigns, iconic and
recent alike.
 A slide deck is supposed to be detailed: think of it as the document that would help you
understand the concept along with short examples.

DESIGN AND PUBLICATIONS


1. Design:
Design a poster for a Niche Speaker session, highlighting the speaker and the tangible
benefits the session would offer. Please deploy subtlety instead of blatantly listing down
points on a colorful background.
OR
Look at the Instagram page of Niche and create 2 (1080*1080px) creatives about latest
brand news or other marketing news.
2. Publications:
Write an article on any one of the below mentioned topic:

 Revision of marketing strategies and the new normal


 Evolution of Nike advertisements

Note: Plagiarism (of any kind) will lead to disqualification.

SPEAKER SESSIONS AND WORKSHOPS


1. Create a deck with no more than 5 slides on ways to amplify the impact (for inside and
outside IIMA community) of the Speaker Series that Niché plans to conduct without a
significant expenditure in budget.
OR
2. Research 2 of the following list of alumni and write a targeted mail to the chosen 2,
inviting them to be a part of the Speaker Series. Please use your discretion to identify the
right target audience for the sessions (PGP1s and/or PGP2s and/or FABM and/or PGPX).
The mail should be drafted professionally and highlight the contribution they can make to the
young minds through their talk.

Please note that the most speakers mentioned above would not be invited for their
knowledge of marketing in the traditional sense, please use your discretion to identify a
broad topic of their expertise that might add value to the IIMA student community.

EVENTS AND COMPETITIONS


1. Design an event/competition for Niche that targets all on-campus entities, i.e. PGP1s, PGP2s,
and PGPX students. (also specify approximately when in the year you would hold the event)
OR
2. Define specific strategies you will implement as a member of Niche to ensure maximum
attendance/participation. You are expected to be aware of the constraints that PGP1s and
PGP2s have in terms of time.
Rules:
a) The event should not be a quiz/case competition/treasure hunt.
b) You are to submit an idea for an event along with the plan of implementation. Please do
not design the event in vague terms, specify exactly how you would implement it.
c) Bonus points will be for those that go beyond involving the IIMA audience in the event.
d) The event/competition can be a single-round or multiple-round-competition.

PR AND MARKETING

Note: Both tasks are compulsory. There are two options for Challenge no. 2.
Challenge No. 1
Amplification of Niche’s visibility on social media, by garnering maximum followers for the
Niche Instagram handle.
Submission format: How you provide evidence of this is your call - be creative! Also,
describe in 100 words what you did to achieve this outcome.
Challenge No. 2
Propose a plan for Instagram and Linkedin campaigns (at least 2 ideas each) to increase
Niche’s visibility and follower base. Be specific with your recommendations and their likely
impact.
OR
Niche is holding a case study competition. Propose a plan to maximise the IIMA
community’s participation in this event. Be specific with your recommendations and their
likely impact.

Submission format: A presentation of not more than 3 slides. <<Brownie points for those
who include content copies wherever possible.>>
