Methodology

SimilarWeb’s Top 25 D2C Brands provides an additional


layer to IAB 250 Direct Brands to Watch. This ensures
that when looking at brands that grew the most, we've

We measured the QoQ performance of these 250 brands


to see which had the highest growth across categories,

CUUP - A rising force in the intimate apparel department

The ability for four apparel brands to make it onto the top
25 list is impressive, given market realities. Consumers
have largely cut back spending on apparel and fashion
and many companies are struggling due to this decline.
An average growth rate of 36% across these four apparel
brands shows us that despite market trends, there is
always room for success.
Channel Overview
CUUP is doing an exceptional job in this space. The
underwear garment retailer increased traffic in Q1 across
direct (+78%), social (+63%), and organic search (+44%),
which signaled a rise in brand recognition and interest.
Plus, all top 10 organic searches include ‘cuup’.

Nonda - Made a fast transition from smart car accessories to PPE

Nonda (124% QoQ growth) is a great example of the


agility that small D2C brands are known for. Nonda was
able to quickly pivot to producing and selling personal
protection equipment in response to COVID-19. KN95
masks are available for consumer purchase on nonda.co
and within the last month they have nearly doubled their
assortment, now selling a "Fingertip Pulse Oximeter
Pack" and "Non-contact Thermometer Pack".

Big brands do not have this same agility and are often
slower to respond to shifting demand.

Food deliveries have a healthy appetite for growth

stay-at-home orders around the US. These seven brands
are helping meet the food delivery demand that grocery

Thrive Market and Daily Harvest - Satisfying customers’ rapidly-changing tastes

Thrive Market

Thrive Market and Daily Harvest have both seen an


increase in paid search traffic largely due to bidding on
keywords like "grocery delivery," "trader joe's delivery" and
"smoothie delivery".

These are brands where we'll look back and trace a big
part of their successes to how they responded during the Daily Harvest

While there has been growth in searches for the


FringeSport brand name, we also see a huge spike in
traffic to terms related to what FringeSport carries.
"Bumper plates" traffic is up 11x MoM, "squat rack" 13x
MoM, "home gym essentials" 3x MoM.

As consumers look for ways to workout at home, the


biggest question is whether or not FringeSport will be
able to meet demand quickly enough (they currently have
shipping delays due to increased demand) and capitalize
on this opportunity to increase market share.
