Please answer the following clearly and concisely:

1.The article mentioned several ongoing global environmental challenges and issues, which of
those mentioned is the most pressing concern that needs to be addressed by the Philippine
government? Explain.

Air pollution has been one of the most significant problems here in the Philippines. This
environmental problem has been escalating over the years and continues to affect our country's
environment negatively. The Philippine government shall implement proper delegation, dispose of
trash properly, and effectively coordinate sustainable solutions of transportation system in our
country to address the problem so that our nation will have a sustainable clean air.

2. What are the crucial roles that the following actors could play in addressing global
environmental concerns:

a) the state

The state can then create its own laws and regulations that may be stricter than federal
regulations, but cannot be weaker. At the local level, environmental laws and regulations are
called ordinances. The government of states works together to regulate activities that affect
environmental quality.

b) economic institutions

Economic institutions create job opportunities for people through which they can generate income
and earn their livelihood. That is how people in society satisfy their basic needs. Many
businesses are developed under an economic institution.

c) intergovernmental organizations

The prominent roles of IGOs were to create a mechanism for the world's inhabitants to work more
successfully together in peace and security and deal with economic and social questions.

d) non-governmental organizations

NGOs include, but are not limited to, environmental, social, advocacy, and human rights work.
NGOs' role in addressing global environmental concerns is that they can promote social or
political change on a broad scale or very locally. NGOs play a critical part in developing society,
improving communities, and promoting citizen participation.
