Failure-Nets within the relational description of parts of IQ-

Fmea’s datamodel
The following small failure net is designed to illustrate the difficulty. The perspective and the
assignment as it is carried out within the IQ-Fmea shall be shown by means of the following
example.

For the mapping of the mentioned failure net (see example above) necessary tables:

Failure types: Table 3

Failure occurences: Table 17
Failure causes: Table 14

Tabelle 3 defines the existing failure types which are carrying the name for the existing
failures. The assignment of failures to their types happens in Table 17. Table 14 allocates
failures pairwise. From the point of view of the failure in the key field ‚uniquekey’ the
assigned failure in the field ‚causes’ is a cause. By reading the assignment inversely, the value
of the field ‚uniquekey’ is an effect of the value in ‚causes’. According to the third normal
form (ERM), it is not directly apparent in which structure the failure net is anchored. This is
to determine through the context of the tables 000, 001 and 011. Also the function which has
anchored the failure carrying the failure net is determined through the context of table 011.
