The Loop continues a slow, but relatively steady increase in business and Hotels/Lodging: 11%
activity since the end of the stay-at-home order beginning in early June. Public Affairs/Government: 11%
There is some evidence of people returning to work and play downtown.
Companies and individuals seem to continue to adjust their balance of Financial Institutions/Insurance/Legal Services: 11%
working in the office and working from home. Restaurant/Bar/Private Club: 16%

Pedestrian Data:
Chicago Loop Alliance’s pedestrian counters track
pedestrian activity in certain parts of the Loop.
Eighteen counters are located on the east and west
sides of State Street from Wacker to Ida B. Wells
drives. The devices do not count the number of unique
pedestrians who walk down the street each day, but
rather pedestrian impressions, meaning a count is
taken at every device someone walks past.

Office/Parking Data:
Numbers are based on aggregate data from a
sampling of office buildings and parking garages
downtown, calculated as a percentage of what they
were in 2019.
