alfalfa is good for rotation’s sake
and boosts the earthworms too.
Soybean, wheat or
sorghum sudan
are grasses I’d like to try,
but others like rye or radishes
are green feed or plough
down buys.
If I plant winter wheat and
the north wind piles snow
on the dormant sprouts,
then chances are when
spring rolls around,
fresh green will grow all out.
Yes, a farmer’s life is a
guessing game, yet
many will give it a go,
When the fields warm up and the
frost is gone you’ll
