Instructions for the project for Financial Management

Topic: Take the companies allotted to you in the attached excel file

Go through the annual report of 2018-2019 and collect the following data for your respective
companies

1) Name of Company
2) History and Overview
3) Sector
4) Authorised/Issued/Subscribed/paid up share capital
5) Capital Structure: Debt and Equity
6) Face value of share
7) Revenue & Net Profit as on 31st March 2019
8) Net Profit Ratio(Net Profit/Sales*100) ;( 31st March 2019)
9) Earnings Per Share as 31st March 2019
10) Current Market Price (14th August and 30th August 2019)
11) Beta value of both the stocks (from downloaded data)
12) Average daily return of both the stocks & Average Daily returns of the Sensex (from
downloaded data)
13) Variance and Standard Deviation of both the stocks (from downloaded data)
14) Average Return to risk ratio for both stocks(Mean/SD)
15) Correlation between the returns of both the stocks (from downloaded data)
16) Correlation between the returns of each of the stocks and returns from the sensex (from
downloaded data)

Download the details regarding the share prices of both and the sensex from 1 st April 2018-31st July
2019. Compute the Beta for each company using these details and the BSE Sensex values . You can

Due date for submission – 31st August 2019

Submission should be in soft copy .Calculations should be shown in an excel file in the format
given in the file “data sample”.This should be accompanied by a word file containing the details
from point 1-10 for each company.The word file should also contain a brief comparative analysis
of both companies based on the data/calculations from point 7-16.

The last page of the word file should contain the links to the annual reports of both the
companies. Alternatively, the soft copies of the annual reports can be attached.

Both the excel and word file should have your name, roll number and section written in the top
and neatly formatted.

File name (both Msexcel and Msword) should be the last 4 digits of your enrolment number.
