1 Installation Guidelines
ConfigView can be downloaded from the website or installed using the setup.exe, when supplied on a CD-
ROM.
1.1 System Requirements
The recommended system requirements are:
Operating System: Windows Server 2003/ Windows 7/ Windows 8/ Windows 10
Hardware
o Processor: Pentium 1GHz or greater
o Memory: 1GB RAM or greater
o Hard disk space : 50 MB or greater
o Hardware: Color monitor with a resolution of 1024 X 768
o CD drive (32X or higher)

1.2 Prerequisites
You must meet the following prerequisites in order to successfully install the ConfigView software:

3 .NET Framework 3_5 SP1 setup in the Framework folder (Available with the
setup)
4 Microsoft Report Viewer 2008 (Available with the setup)
5 USB Driver (required for establishing communication between devices and
ConfigView)
1.3 Installing ConfigView from Website
To install the ConfigView from the website, do the following:
1. Download ConfigView from http://www.ceweinstrument.se/en/downloads1/sof/ (under ‘Softwares’
section).
2. Unzip the saved file.
3. Install Microsoft dot Net Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 provided with the set up in the Prerequisite
folder or from http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx.
4. Next install Report Viewer and USB driver from the Prerequisite folder.
Note: Uninstall the old version of ConfigView, if available.
5. Run the setup.exe

6. The ConfigView installation wizard is launched. Click Next to proceed.

7. The following screen prompts you to specify the folder where ConfigView should be installed and
selection of the user type. It is a good practice to install it under the default Program Files folder as
shown below. Select Everyone as the preferred user type. Click Next to proceed.

8. Click Next to start the installation.

9. The progress bar shows the status of the application as it is installed.

10. When the installation is complete, a window similar to the one below appears. Click Close to exit the
wizard.

After the installation is complete, click ConfigView from the Programs on taskbar or from desktop shortcut
to start the application
1.4 Installing ConfigView from CD
To install the ConfigView, do the following:
1. Install Report Viewer, USB driver and Microsoft dot Net Framework 3.5 Service pack 1 from the
Prerequisite folder.
2. Run ConfigView Setup.exe and follow the wizard retaining the default selections.
1.5 Updating the USB driver
This section describes the procedure to update the USB driver required to establish connection with any device.

1.5.1 Updating the USB driver for DPT100/


DPT200/ DPT300 transducers
Connect the transducer with your PC/laptop. Refer the product manual to establish the connections. Follow
these steps to update the USB driver software required to connect with the transducer device.
1. When you connect the transducer to a laptop/PC, a notification popup appears on the taskbar at the
bottom right corner.

If you do not see the popup, click the arrow in the taskbar notification area to view hidden icons.

2. Click the popup. The ‘Driver Software Installation’ window appears. By default, Windows
automatically installs/updates drivers for the devices that are connected to the computer. However, for
ConfigView, you will need to manually update the driver software. Therefore, click the Skip obtaining
driver software from windows update link at the bottom to disable automatic search.

3. A confirmation message appears. Click Yes to proceed.

4. Click Close to close the notification window.

5. Once connected, the device is listed in the Device Manager list. To view the list and update the driver
manually, right -click the Computer icon, and further click Manage.

6. The Computer Management window appears. In the left-hand navigation pane, click the Device
Manager option. A tree view list of relevant items is shown in the right pane.
7. Click the arrow next to the Other devices option to expand the tree view list.
8. The device is listed as CDC RS-232 Emulation Demo. Right-click this item and click the Update Driver
Software option.

9. A new window appears. Click the Browse button and browse to the location of the USB driver software.
Keep the Include subfolders option checked. The default location for USB driver is highlighted in the
screen below. Click the Next button to proceed.

10. The installation of the driver software starts. You can view the status on the progress bar.
11. A confirmation message appears after successful installation.

Note:
Once installed, the driver is listed under the Ports items list in the Device Manager window. An example figure
is shown below.

1.6 Checking the Installation


To verify that the software was successfully installed with all the sub components, click C:/Program Files. You
should see a folder named ConfigView with all the subfolders for the main framework named ConfigViewMC.

Note: This is the default installation location.

1.7 Running the application after installation
Click ConfigView from the Programs on taskbar or from desktop shortcut to start the application.
Note:

If you do not have sufficient permission to run the ConfigView application, you can run it as an administrator. To
do so, right-click the application exe where it is installed and click the Run as administrator option as shown
below.

1.7.1 Installing the USB driver for

1. Double-click the .exe file for USB driver to install it.
2. The installation wizard is launched. Click Next to proceed.

3. Accept the terms of license agreement and click Next to proceed.

5. Click Install to start the installation.

6. The progress bar shows the status of the application as it is installed.

7. Click Finish to exit the wizard.

8. Retain the default location settings and click the Install button.

9. The required driver files are copied to the default location.

10. On successful completion, the following message is shown.
