After reading or browsing the book or module provided, answer the following questions based on

your understanding. As much as possible, answers should be on your own words and not copied from
any book or article in the internet. Answers per item should be at least 30 words but not to exceed
100 words.

1. What is the role of a Project Manager and how important is it in Project Management?

A Project Manager is responsible for looking the project for its successful completion and within
completion he/she should also consider the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure of the
project because these phases is the key to the success of the project. Project Management is
important because it ensures us that we are getting a proper plan towards our goals and it discusses
the terms like when it will be finished, how much cost it would take and what will be the benefit of
the project.

2. Why are project management techniques used by organizations?

Organizations used project management techniques because it guides us what are the tools to
be used in the project, it gives us the idea on how to use our budget especially when hiring the
employees and leads us on how the project should be properly done.

3. Why is having a “war room” important in project management?

Having a “war room” is important because in an organization exchanging/sharing of ideas is a

must, so that everyone is aware and have the idea on what is on the mind of every person that is
involved in the project. In this style, we are giving a chance to everyone that has an idea and we are
also making a way on deciding what is the best option for the project.

4. During a meeting with some of the project stakeholders, the project manager is asked to add
work to the project scope. The project manager had access to correspondence about the project
before the project charter was signed and remembers that the project sponsor specifically denied
funding for the scope mentioned by these stakeholders. What would be the best thing that the
project manager should do?

The project manager should tell to the stakeholders that the project scope cannot be added
because after of the project of scope is being finalized and scope baseline is determined, and it can be
changed only with the approved change request. In the situation the project scope is being defined
already so stakeholders cannot add a new project scope unless if there is approval of changing it.

5. During risk management activities, 236 risks have been identified which are caused by 13 root
causes. You could eliminate the 234 risks by your risk management activities. For remaining 2 risks,
you, together with your team, could not find a way to mitigate or insure the risks. Also, these 2 risks
cannot be outsourced or removed from project scope. What is the best solution?

I think our team should accept the risk, as in the scenario we try to eliminate them, then mitigate
and insure but none of them work. As by accepting the risk, our project team should continue or seek
a remedy to accommodate this risk and we should also plan a budget on unexpected losses if this risk
gives us a bad impact.
