The Use Of Onklas In The Implementation Of The Final Term

Examination In SMAN 4 Surabaya

At the end of November a number of high school students in Surabaya took a final
term examination or now is called the end of semester assessment /penilaian akhir semester
(PAS). The implementation of (PAS) lasted about 1 to 2 weeks and the implementation was
different from previous years. At this time students no longer use paper but an application
called “Onklas” on a computer or cellphone.

Onklas is a school management system platform that is integrated and meets the needs
of schools including ; information management systems, academic management systems,
quality management systems (documents, assets, audits), management of school
cooperatives, as well as integration between institutions and school sets of online learning
modules. Now education has developed through technology and made the education system
more quality.
 The implementation of the examination in SMA 4 Surabaya

One of the schools that made technological developments is SMA 4 Surabaya. The
school implements (PAS) using onklas applications to its students. SMA 4 applied that on
Thursday 28 November 2019 to Monday 29 November 2019.

"Onklas application indeed makes it easier for us to carry out the examination because it is
not complicated. But there are also some weaknesses in this application, which is sometimes
the network is less supportive and makes it slow" said the student of Azizah

The school said that tolerating error because it was something normal in an
application that was connected to the internet network. To be able to run this application
students only create an email and password to get an account.

After the student has an account, the test is carried out by connecting to wi-fi network
at school and we can use the applicattion which provides schedule and examination test from
school.

According to the vice-principal of the curriculum , Mrs. Luluk "The challenge for us
teachers is the difficulty to adapt, initially it takes time to learn how it works , now we enjoy
operating onklas because we are used to it and it is very easy"

In SMA 4 the implementation of the exam asks students to bring a laptop or cellphone
from home, and to share the exam schedule with different hours between grade 12 and class
10 11.

It is also known that the school adopted onklas since 3 years ago. Now the students
and teachers are able to accept well and be able to adapt.

This onklas application is expected to be a means of developing students’ learning

process in the digital era, it also contains non academical features, such as tuition fee menu,
buying credit for cellphones,etc.

"On SMA 4 Onklas goes well and is able to facilitate between school and students in learning
process. It makes studying at school is more fun" said Mr. Pambudi

The true use of technology in education aims to facilitate and optimize learning
activities as well as onklas platforms that have been used by SMA 4 since three years ago.
 Increasing trends in the use of technology for education among students, teachers, and
schools are expected to be a new step towards better education for Indonesia. Hopefully.
