Brother Rice High School, a private, all-male, Roman Catholic

SPECIAL PROGRAMS
APEX Program: APEX (Academic Pursuit of Excellence) is a special program
designed to guide the truly academically gifted student to his full potential.
Academically gifted students are admitted into APEX to help assure a challenging
academic environment appropriate to their talents. The class of 2015 Average APEX
ACT score was 31.

PACC: PACC (Program for Advanced College Credit) is a program offered through
Loyola University (Chicago), St. Mary’s University, Saint Xavier University and
Moraine Valley Community College where a number of junior and senior classes
have been accredited as college level courses.

FOCUS Program: FOCUS is offered to students in need of more individualized


strategies to improve their academic skills and prepare for post-high school plans.
Most students remain in the program for two years and, by junior year, many
students are mainstreamed into regular academic level classes. FOCUS students are
not required to take a world language.
