An upside down book shelf will

help utilising the space which is
usually left unused.

It also protects the precious

books from dust.

Using Elastic from old cloths or the books covers
ribbon we can handle the books and hold it with
pages making it
easily upside down stable to stand
upside down.

CONCEPT FOR THE BOOK SHELF

SURREALISM
Surrealism was a cultural movement which
developed in Europe in the aftermath of World
War I and was largely influenced by Dada. The
movement is best known for its visual artworks
and writings and the juxtaposition of uncommon
imagery.

The Upside-down world:

Upside-down world is a fantasy imagination

used in lots or artwork by polish painter Jacek
Yerka who has done a lot of mind bending work.
This idea is also illustrated in Sci-Fi TV show
STRANGER THINGS where it is believed to have
a parallel universe similar to our universe called
as “The Upside-Down” in the show.

Taking inspiration from this surrealism
artwork and literature, this bookshelf
is desigend to hold the books in an
upside down manner, creating similar
effect of the UPSIDE DOWN in the
final product.
