PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently,
especially Amelia Mackwood.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s
healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home especially Cecil Lewis, Marguerite
McIntyre and Rev. Nil Guillmette. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.

ON OUR WAY WITH JESUS

We will continue our faith program of preparation of young people who desire to come to full communion
with our Church.
“WE COME TO THE TABLE”: is the second series of our annual program. Parents and young people

SISTERS OF ST. JOSEPH, PERU MISSION: We recently received a letter from Sr. Pauline Coulterman
which outlines how the monies donated from parishioners of S.F.X. were utilized in the Sisters’ mission
in Chincha, Alta.
A “Work Crew” of eight people went with Sr. Pauline for a two-week work experience in February 2010.
They visited over 62 families in the area and addressed many needy situations.
Sister Pauline writes, “Approximately $25,000 was spent during this time for goods purchased and labour
provided. It was amazing to see how far this money went – every penny was greatly appreciated by the
Peruvian recipients.”
Sr. Pauline expresses appreciation on behalf of the Peruvian people and the Sisters of St. Joseph and
invites anyone interested to support the upcoming February 2011 trip.
Copies of Sr. Pauline’s letter are available at the church entrances. Donation forms for the 2011 project
are on the back of the letter.
This year Sr. Pauline will be accompanied by 6 area individuals including Nancy Bailey and Cathy
Mahusky of our parish.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY”
A knitting group called, “Prayer Shawl Ministry” will begin in early February. Compassion,
prayer and love of knitting are combined to reach out to people in dire crisis, grave illness, or facing
life-threatening circumstances. These shawls are always freely given...never sold. The knitter
starts out each shawl with prayers for the recipient (not always known at first) and continues
throughout its creation. Upon completion, it is blessed and sent on its way. I am looking for
knitters, as well as monetary donations to subsidize the purchase of specific yarns and knitting
needles for these shawls. If you are interested please call Nancy Smith at 433-3183, or to make a
monetary donation, please put it in the collection basket as “Prayer Shawl Ministry” attention:
Nancy Smith. Watch for a display of these shawls at both entrances of the church next weekend.
