4.0 METHOD
4.1 Dynamic Load Test for piles is done in accordance to the ASTM
Standard D-4945-96 or ICE Specification For Piling (UK) Standard
Testing Procedure. Dynamic Pile Test is based on the theory of Stress
Wave Propagation on Piles (CASE Method).
4.2 The test is suitable for pile verifications at the end of driving or at re-
strike for selected piles. The soil condition is to be considered when
determining the time at which to be carried out the test. The pile
driving hammer used for installation of the pile will be employed to
caused the impact on the pile top to generate the necessary strain and
wave propagation. The procedure for impact follows that of standard
pile driving routine.
4.4 To ensure good field data and protection for the sensors, the pile top
should be at least 3 times.
4.5 The pile width or diameter measured from the ground surface.
4.6 Upon securing the sensors and connection them to the Pile Driving
Analyzer, the latter is turned on and the relevant pile information is
keyed onto the equipment .A self-diagnosis program is then activated
to ensure that the system is in proper working order.
4.7 Once, the self-check is done, the system is set ‘Standby’ mode, ready
to receive the test signals from the impact. The collection of data from
the impact is automatic. Multiple blows/impacts is often carried out to
enable representative data to be collected.
4.8 Data from different blows for the same pile will be stored onto one
storage file location on the computer .A representative set of data will
be used for onward analysis. Useful information that can be display for
each impact includes:
5.1 Work will be carried out according to the Project Safety Plan.
5.2 Tool box meeting will be carried out on construction area at regular
interval to ensure compliance with the Safety Plan and familiarity with
accident and emergency procedures.
5.4 Provide PPE to all workers including safety helmet, safety shoe, vest,
ear protector, etc.

5.7 Inspect all machinery at site and ensure that it has competent
certificate and is safe to operate.
5.8 The entire area of operation 2.5 meter away from the operational
railway line will be barricaded to restrict the movement of the working
staff.
