Dear Sir,
During my visit to pkg 4 regarding the structural cracks over retaining wall on some of areas shown/ visited with Mr.
Upadhaya and Mr. Rai, we have found 2-3 vertical cracks on each span of 30 mtr wall, of 300 mm thick, actually are
not surface cracks. They are through out the thickness and visible from both sides,
It is also noticed by ur engineers that some of the cracks had expanded with time, but most of them were now stagnant
from last 3-4 months.
As per Mr. Upaddhaya , The assumed reason of cracks are sheer settlement in soil below the raft of same walls,

The proposed method for the repair of wall cracks

Methodology

A: Detecting all visible cracks and marking of same for further steps,

B: The soil up to the dept of raft should be dig out all , in 2 mtrs wide , based on the position / location of vertical
cracks of wall. (Not all over required).

C: Cutting “V” groove max.25-30 mm wide and 20-30 mm deep.

D: Identify the probable locations for epoxy injection. Min. difference of 100 mm C/C. both side of walls in a
specified matrix and angle.

E: Making the proper drill holes of dia 12-16mm over selected locations in a angle of 45°- 60°, and 25-40mm deep.
Fixing of 10-12mm dia nozzles fixed with “ Conbextra GP 2” .

F: After the above process the entire surface should be pressure washed or cleaned with high pressure
compressed air, to clean all loose material and dust etc.

G: Apply Nitobond EP over the Groove, and seal with 3 component Epoxy concrete Repair mortar
“ Nitomortar S” .

H: Finally , injection of “Conbextra EP 10” as per manufacture’s specification through nozzles with suitable
pressure.

I: Cutting of Nozzles and sealing them with Renderoc CS, we Can also use Renderoc CS for the sealing of minor
cracks.

Note : The above solution has been designed for the cracks seen at site, the above application will be the best solution
for its repair, but if there is further settlement occur , but this repair will not be the prevention of cracks due to
settlement.
