Jas_1:1 - To be a Bondservant - James calls himself a servant of Elohim.

This is the
Greek word "doolos" that means Bondservant. What is a Bondservant? Why does
James refer to himself as a bondservant of Y'shua? The term Bondservant comes from
the Lev_25:39 and is the Hebrew word "abodah" (H5656) and "ebed" (H5650). "Abodah"
is first used in Scripture in Gen_29:27 where Laban told Jacob that he needs to serve
another 7 years to get Rachel, a down payment for the hand of his bride. "Ebed is first
used in Scripture in Gen_9:25 where Noah cursed Canaan after Ham sinned and he
said that Canaan and his generations will be bondservants of his brothers. We see the
first Bondservant account was due to owing a dept and the person serve to pay it off.
The second account is where he became a Bondservant due to a curse that came upon
him due to the sin of his father(s). Both these support why James called himself a
Bondservant and why we are also Bondservants of Messiah; We owe a dept to our
Master Y'shua because He paid our dept for us through paying with His blood. Rom_5:8,
Eph_1:7, Col_1:14. The dept we owed was to pay the penalty for sin and the "currency"
is your blood or your life (Lev_17:11).

Abraham calls himself a servant (ebed) which is a bondservant. We find mention of

the Hebrew word for 'servant' in Gen_18:3 where Abraham called himself a servant
(bondservant) of YHVH. The word for servant is “ebed” meaning bondservant.
This is a well-known term used by Paul and the disciples referring to themselves as
bondservants of Yeshua. We see now that Abraham was a bondservant of YHVH. This
is when you are a servant of a master being set free after seven years, Lev_25:40, but
you choose to stay the master’s servant, out of free will. You disregard your rights as a
free man, you submit under the authority of your master, he looks after you and you
serve him. This is a beautiful picture of being born again and choosing Yeshua as your
Master. What people tend to forget is to give away their right to be their own master and
to submit under the instruction of their new Master.

As a bondservant you live in your Master’s house, sit at His table, live like one of His
own children, but you must be obedient to His house rules and adopt His way of doing
things and actually grow into His culture. We as “Christians” today, pray the prayer and
make the choice because it suites us at that point in time to help up escape the
challenges of what was haunting us then. But when things tend to settle down, we
actually did not choose to be bondservants and we want our Master to conform to our
will, to do things for us because it is now your right as a child of Elohim. This order is the
wrong way round and you must realize that you are the servant and He is the Master. In
other words, you don’t have a life and use YHVH to be your support system. The right
way is that, He calls the shots and you listen, this is for your own good, so that you can
change in becoming like Him.

James also mentions that he is talking to the 12 tribes which are scattered abroad. This
is a fundamental statement that shows that the first century believers understood the
concept of Israel and that they have been scattered into the nations due to their unbelief
(disobedience). Jer_31:10
Jas_1:2 - Temptations - We should count it all joy when we are tempted by the
adversary or disciplined by our Father (G3986 - pirasmos). We see two things here; the
first is where YHVH disciplines us and the second is when our enemies persecute us
because of our righteousness. This Greek word covers both meanings and if you read
the TaNaK (Old Testament) you will see that YHVH disciplines His people through
allowing their adversaries to attack them as a result of their disobedience. Deu_28:45-
53, Pro_3:12, Pro_1:23, Pro_3:11. Pro_3:12 says that YHVH reproofs and discipline
those He loves. This shows that He cares for us and do not want us to go astray. This is
why we need to be glad when we realise that He is disciplining us and bringing us back
to Him because of His grace and love for us. Pro_1:23 says that if you repent when
YHVH reproofs you, then He will pour His Spirit on you. He will reveal His Word of
knowledge, wisdom and Truth to you and this will cause you to turn and walk
righteously. This is one more reason to rejoice because His Sprit is the Spirit that will
reveal His Truth to us (Spirit of Truth) and will help us to become Holy (Holy Spirit). Do
you think James had these passages in mind when he said the we should count it all joy
when we are tempted (disciplined)? I think so.

Secondly, we need to count it joy when our enemies persecute us because of our
righteousness. This is basically when Satan attacks you because you are righteous and
He wants to give you a hard time so that you can back off. We see this in the Scripture in
the life of Job when he was tested/tempted because of his righteousness. Job_1:8-12.

Jas_1:3-4 - Our faith will be tested. Just like YHVH tested Israel taking them through
the Wilderness for 40 years to see what was in their hearts and to see if they will obey
Him. Deu_8:2. The testing of our faith is a humbling experience where YHVH will allow
situations that will remove the things that are wrong and will build faith and character. If
we were perfect then YHVH would not need to take us through these tests and trials in
order to change us and build character. James said that the testing of our faith leads to
patience, which is a good thing and a fruit of the Spirit. Gal_5:22. Humility is one of the
key attributes of a true believer because that will allow YHVH to work with that person
and that He can change him/her through His Spirit so that we can bear His fruit.
Patience is what you need to endure during the time of testing and this is the second
most important attribute a believer must have in order to be changed by YHVH. If your
patience run out then you will loose your stand in faith and give up, loosing ground.
Moses gave us a good example in Exo_17:12 keeping our faith strong until the test is
over and the battle is won. Aaron and Hur supported his arms and kept it steady until
they won the battle against Amalek. Amalek represents the flesh and we are constantly
tested in a battle against the flesh. The word "steady" is the Hebrew word "amunah" that
is mostly translated as faith. So in other words we need to be strong in our faith, having
patience during the battle or test so that we may overcome our enemies (Satan and your
flesh). What does Moses' rod represent that we must uphold during these tests? The
word 'rod' is the Hebrew word "mattah" that means tribe, branch and figuratively means
correction and 'supports your walk (halechah)'. The tribe represents fellow believers and
this means we must uphold and support one another during trials and tests so that when
one is weak the other is strong. That we might overcome the enemy together. The
'Branch" is a metaphor for the Messiah that means we must not neglect our faith in
Messiah during our trials and tests. Not to be angry at Him for allowing this 'character
building' exercise to come across our path. The 'correction' is through the Word of YHVH
and we must keep our eyes on His Word. We must keep our actions in line with his
Word so that we may 'pass' the test and move on to the next level. There is a saying that
when you squeeze a orange you get orange juice but if you squeeze a believer you get
Satan. We are supposed to reveal Y'shua in our lives during hard times and testing of
our faith and not give up and loose the plot, going back to our old ways expressing our
fleshly nature (anger, frustration, impatience, swearing, moaning and complaining).

The testing of our faith work patience that will result in (if you uphold your faith) patience
completing its work making you perfect so that you will be complete and lack nothing.
People tend to think that this is about material needs that you will lack nothing physically.
This is not the context of what James is teaching us, we go through these tests and trials
in order to gain the character of Messiah as revealed through the fruit of His Spirit and
you will be made complete in Him lacking nothing in regards to His fruit and character. It
is all about changing your character and attaining His divine Character so that you may
become like Him. We will be perfect and complete when we are being transformed into
His likeness. Eph_2:10 shows us that we are YHVH's workmanship, His 'project' that will
result in a end 'product' with certain criteria and specifications. He has set the standard
on how this 'product' must be at the end and He takes us through a 'manufacturing
process' (tests and trials) to shape us in the perfect image according to the blueprint or
plan that is found in Messiah Y'shua. In other words Y'shua is the perfect example of
how we as believers must be at the end of our 'creation' or 'manufacturing' process. We
are then to reveal our new nature and character through 'good works' (mitsvots) that
YHVH has set up beforehand so that we can walk (halachaha) in them. Walk is the
Hebrew word "halachaha" that implies your whole conduct, words and actions. The
'good works' is found in the Torah (Law) which YHVH gave to us beforehand through
Moses and they are the "measure" He uses to tests us against as we travel through the
Wilderness (being tested) so that He can see what is in our hearts and if we will live out
our lives in line with His Character (Commandments).Deu_8:2.

Jas_1:5 - Ask for Wisdom - If we lack wisdom we should ask wisdom in faith and YHVH
will give us wisdom bountifully without measure and without having loss. Why does
James mentions wisdom here in the context of tests and trials? This is the third thing we
need to overcome the time of testing; we need to be humble and have patience, firm
faith, fellow believers that support us, know YHVH's Word and strong faith in the
Messiah and keep our actions in line with His Word expressing His Character during this
test period, and we need wisdom. Wisdom is first found in Scripture in Exo_28:3 where
YHVH gave the people a 'Spirit of Wisdom' that enabled them to make the garments of
the priests. We know that this 'Spirit of Wisdom' is also the 'Spirit of Truth' and the 'Set
Apart or Holy Spirit'. In other words YHVH 'anointed' then through His Spirit and that
'anointing' enabled them and gave them insight and abilities that they didn't have before.
We need the "Spirit of Wisdom' to 'anoint us' to give us the ability (that we didn’t have
before' to overcome the temptation. 1Co_10:13. YHVH will make a way for you to
overcome your temptation and pass the test and that is through His Spirit anointing you
with wisdom. Wisdom is not knowledge, it is how you apply knowledge in a certain
situation. Knowledge is something you learn during your life, being exposed to difficult
situations. Knowledge is something you learn but it is only theoretical and will become
practical when you apply it correctly in the situation you face. We learn the Word and
that gives us knowledge of the Truth and the 'Spirit of Truth' confirms and embeds that
truth in our hearts. The next step is to 'write a practical exam' to see if you can apply
what you have learned and that is where you enter a 'test phase' and where you need
the 'Spirit of Wisdom' to give you the ability to apply the knowledge of the Truth in that
situation in your life. The key is faith and prayer, without asking wisdom in faith you will
not receive it and you will not know how to overcome. This shows our dependency on
Him and that we need the Truth and the Wisdom to apply in every situation so that we
can deal with it the way He would have dealt overcome the situation. This whole process
will change you and this is the way you will grow spiritually. When you face a difficult
situation at work or at home ask YHVH to give you wisdom so that you can know what to
do so that He will resolve the issue through His wisdom and you applying it. There is no
limit to YHVH's wisdom and He has enough Wisdom for everybody's situations every
day and He is willing to give it to everybody who ask it from Him in faith.

Jas_1:6-8 - Do not doubt. Doubt is the opposite and the enemy of faith. To doubt is to
give up or to run away. It is like loosing a battle against the enemy. He will then take
'ground' or 'land' back form your life and leave you plundered with nothing. We should
fight back and keep our ground so that we can take back the areas in our lives that
Satan controls so we can restore our land (life) and rid it from the enemy and destroy
his works and not allow it.

To doubt is like a wave of the sea tossed in the wind. Why does he use the sea and the
wind as an example? The sea in Hebrew thought also means nations or people in the
world. The word wind in Hebrew is the word "ruach" that means spirit. People in the
world are controlled by a spirit, and that spirit is not from YHVH. They have no focus and
Satan keeps them BUSY (Being Under Staten' Yoke) so that they do not have the time
to even think about YHVH. If we doubt, then we are like people in the world that are
controlled and kept busy by things in this world that distract us and we then tend to take
one step forward and two steps back. Trying to follow YHVH and then pulled away by
Satan's spirit.

James calls these people double minded and they cannot expect to receive anything
from YHVH, even if they ask. You cannot follow two Masters and listen to YHVH and
other spirits. They are double minded and think on YHVH's things as well as worldly
things that let them doubt and fall. We should be strong and stand firm so that we cannot
be pushed about by circumstances, worldly things or evil spirits and lies deceiving us.

Jas_1:9-11 - The Rich and the Proud - The humble in heart will be exalted but the
proud and rich will be humiliated. The humble person's trust is in spiritual things and in
YHVH but the proud and rich trust in the physical and the things they have attained. The
earth and all that is in it will end and so will the things the rich man trust in, like a flower
of the grass it will wither away in the hot wind and will perish. The Hot Wind represents
YHVH's judgment and everything that is not rooted in Him will perish like the rich who
trust in their wealth and money. The faithful followers of YHVH are tempted and tested
so that they can change but the rich are proud and their tests and trials only make them
more stubborn and drive them further away from YHVH.

Jas_1:12 - Endurance & Salvation - Those who endures temptation will receive the
crown of life. We also see this in Rev_2:10 where Believers will be tested and
persecuted and if they endure, then they will receive the crown of life. Crown is first used
in scripture in Gen_49:26 where Jacob blessed his12 sons and particularly Joseph who
was tested and persecuted but in the end received a crown and authority to rule. Joseph
was not only a picture of the Messiah but he is also a picture of the Body of Messiah
who is the Bride. We see the same concept in Rev_20:6 where YHVH will allow His
Bride to reign with Him for a 1000 years, those who are part of the first resurrection.

YHVH promised this "crown of life" or promise to rule with Him after the first resurrection
(Eternal Life / Salvation), to those who love Him. How do I love YHVH. It is not only
saying with our lips that we love Him, it is to prove with our actions that we love Him.
How do I a wife love her husband? First of all, she is humble and subject to him as the
Word suggests and good wife should be Eph_5:24 Col_3:18 Rom_13:1. She does things
that support her husband so that he can be the provider for his home and she manages
the house to make it a home. In other words, she does things that he approve of and
that supports him in his venture and she has a submissive supportive role Joh_12:26 .
For her to be submissive and supportive she needs to be obedient to what he asks for.
He is the one who is the authority in the house and the wife see to it that the children are
in line with the father's standards and instructions. In this example we see that we as the
Bride need to be submissive and supportive of the Messiah and that we are in line with
His Vision and plan so that we do not hinder His work, but support it and help Him to
accomplish it. We also see that the bride needs to be obedient to the Messiah so that
His will can be done and she helps to make it happen. This is in line with the verse that
say that we love Him if we obey and do His Commandments Exo_20:6, Joh_14:15,
Joh_14:21-23 Joh_15:10, 1Jn_5:2-4. To love YHVH is to submit your will under His will
and that implies total obedience to whatever He says or asks Act_5:29, Act_5:32,
Rom_6:16, Gal_3:1, Eph_6:5, 2Th_3:14, Heb_5:9, . You do nothing of yourself, only
the things your Father commands or asks of you Joh_5:30, Luk_22:42.

Jas_1:13-16 - The Temptation of the law of the flesh - James instructs us not to err,
not to allow the lusts of the flesh to overtake us and cause us to sin. You can either obey
YHVH or obey your flesh. These are the two "laws" that Paul is talking about in
Rom_7:23-25 and if we follow the "law of the flesh" then we do not obey the "law of the
Spirit" which is the law or Torah of YHVH written in our hearts Jer_31:33, Rom_2:15. We
are tempted by the lusts of our flesh and not by YHVH and He does not tempt anyone.
He does allow Satan to tempt us but only if we allow sin in our lives and give Satan a
right to attack us. We should guard our hearts and follow the Law of righteousness in our
hearts and not the law of the flesh in our bodies that leads to sin and death. To follow
YHVH's Law (Torah) that is in your heart is also known as to walk in the Spirit and if you
walk in the Spirit you will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh and you are no longer under the
law (of the flesh) Gal_5:6-18.

Jas_1:17 - YHVH's Gifts, Truth & Faith - Every good gift comes from the Father of
lights and in Him there is no shadow or fickleness. This s a fundamental truth about the
Character of the Father that a lot of people miss or do not understand. The Father is the
origin (Ab or Abba) and He is light 1Jn_1:5, and light represents Truth 1Jn_1:6.
Darkness represents evil, sin and lies and there is not even a shadow of darkness in the
Father because He is the origin of Truth and light. James also says that there is no
'variableness or fickleness' in Him. To be fickle means to be instable, to waver, to
change your mind, do not have a firm opinion, do not have a firm purpose. I have heard
so many times that people say that God changes because they believe that He came to
abolish the Law/Torah and replaced Israel with the Church. This replacement theology is
no where backed in Scripture and the Prophets have numerous passages that say that
YHVH will still use Israel until the end of time. YHVH is not fickle and He is not a man
that He should change because His first plan did not work out Mal_3:6, Psa_89:34,
Heb_13:8, Joh_14:9, Isa_40:8.

What gifts comes from the Father? The first thing that springs to mind is the Gifts of the
Spirit 1Co_12:4-9. Then specifically, YHVH gives us a gift of faith, He gives each one a
measure of faith. Rom_12:3 Does this mean that He give you more faith than me and
that you are better off than me regarding faith. No, that does not mean that at all. Faith
and truth are related. Faith cannot exist without truth. Truth is the word "emeth" - -
that means - firmness, faithfulness, truth, true doctrine.

Truth or "Emeth" comes from the root word "aman" - - that means - to support,
confirm, be faithful, uphold, nourish (from father), reliable, faithful, trusty, to stand firm, to
trust, to be certain, to believe in, faith. Faith cannot exist without truth and truth existed
before faith. Faith means to be faithful in the truth you have received and if you believe a lie,
you cannot have faith.

The root for truth and faith is the word "ame" that means mother, the bond of the family

unit, and is related to "amah" that means maidservant or bondwoman. That implies
that we as the Bride, the maidservant or Bondwoman needs truth and faith to be called the
Bride and Bondwoman of YHVH. YHVH gave each one of us a measure of truth, He did not
give all the truth to only one man, he gave it according to His plan and His will so that when
we come in unity and love, we can learn from one another and gain access to the whole truth
as He intended it for the Body of Messiah Eph_4:13.

The Father also gave us salvation through faith that is a Gift of YHVH. Salvation is a gift that
is given by YHVH through His grace and you access (take or receive) this gift of salvation
through your faith. Your faith is based on the truth you have received that enlightened you
and has caused you to be born again. That truth was sown in your heart and has grown and
bears the fruit that reflects YHVH divine nature through the fruit you bear that is the fruit of
the Spirit. The fruit of the Sprit is then also gifts of YHVH that you receive as you receive His
Spirit and His Instructions (Torah) written in your heart and express it in your life.

Jas_1:18 - The creation of Humanity - He has brought us forth with the Word of Truth and
we have become first fruits of His creation. Gen_1:26-27 - YHVH created man to have
dominion over His creation and He did that by creating man in His Image and Likeness. We
read in verse 28 that He only created man in His Image and not in His likeness although He
said it in verse 27. That means that YHVH created man in the beginning in His Image (looks
like Him) but He will only complete His creation after the First Cumming of Messiah where
He will complete His creation of man so that man can also be in His Likeness. Man can only
be in YHVH's Likeness (be like Him) when he receives YHVH's Spirit and His divine nature.
This is what James is referring to when he said that YHVH "brought us forth" to be the "first
fruits" of His creation, in other words, be in His Image and Likeness. What causes us to be in
YHVH's Likeness? Receiving His Word of Truth. Y'shua made this possible because He is
the Word of Truth Who became man and dwelled among us to show us how to live out the
Truth and how to be LIKE Him Joh_1:1-14.

YHVH created man on day 6 and He will finish the creation of humanity after 6000 years. We
are all in the process of being created spiritually just like humanity is being created according
to the bigger Plan of YHVH. We are the first fruits (best) of His creation and if you read
Gen_1:26 you see that man is appointed to have dominion over what YHVH created. Having
these two thoughts in mind brings us to the conclusion that we are the first fruits or the
appointed ones that will have dominion or rule over others just like the Prophets and
Priesthood ruled over Israel. They were the spiritual leaders that heard from YHVH and
guided the people spiritually, in the same way, YHVH gave us His Spirit (created us in His
Likeness) to equip us to stand in the role of Priests 1Pe_2:5-9 and to serve the people
spiritually so that they will repent and come back to YHVH, following and worshipping Him.
Y'shua is the first fruit of us and we are the first fruit of the people, that means that He is the
High Priest and we are His priesthood (Bride) according to the order of Melchisedec.
Rom_11:6 We should be Holy (set apart for a specific role and purpose) just as He is Holy.

Jas_1:19 - Speak less & listen more - Be swift to listen and slow to speak and slow to
anger. Pro_21:23 You have two ears and one mouth, use it in the same ratio. Pro_10:19 It is
better to listen before you speak and to get all the facts before you raise your opinion. People
who are extrovert should take this to heart because they tend to speak while they think and
tend to speak much more that what they listen. Pro_16:1 Think before you speak, prepare
what you will say before you say it so that you can think of the consequences of your words
and what the impact will be and who you are talking to so that you may not offend someone.
If you can speak to someone without offending them, then you have mastered effective
communication and has grown to a level of maturity. Jas_3:2 Pro_18:21 - Death and life is in
the power of the tongue and you can "kill" an relationship if you use words recklessly.
Pro_13:3

Jas_1:20 - Be patient and do not anger - We should be slow to anger; if you get angry
quickly, then you do not bear the fruit of the Spirit that is patience. Luk_8:15 Luk_21:19
1Co_13:4 1Ti_6:11 Patience is the key of controlling your anger and stop you from having
and outburst and it allows you to think before you act. Pro_15:1, Your anger is not supporting
righteousness and that means that it fester sin. Your anger cannot change anything, only
YHVH can so ask His wisdom in every situation and do not try to take control in your own
hands. Pro_16:32 Pro_25:15

Jas_1:21 - Turn form evil and filthiness and receive the Word - James is elaborating on
what the implanted Word does and how it creates us into the first fruits of YHVH's creation
and transform us into His Likeness. The key to receive the implanted word is through
humility. Pro_22:4 1Pe_5:5 1Pe_5:6 We saw the same principle when Y'shua taught on the
principle of the sower and that our hearts is the ground that receives YHVH's Word like seed
and let it bring forth much fruit. Mar_4:3-20. The enemy of YHVH's Word (seed) is pride,
filthiness and evil. Evil is the word "rah" that means adversary, bad, mischief, thought,
wickedness. Filthiness is the word "nidah" that means impurity - physical (menstruation),
spiritual (idolatry) and sexual (incest & fornication). It is first used in Scripture in 2Ch_29:5
where YHVH commanded the Priesthood to sanctify themselves and the House of YHVH
(Temple) and to take away the filthiness, idolatry, and impurities out from their worshipping
YHVH. This means to us that we should rid our selves (as the priesthood) form all idolatrous
form of worship that came form pagan origin Jer_10:2-4 (Christmas, Easter) and to cleanse
our selves with the Word (Eph_5:26) so that the House of YHVH will be clean - teach the
Body of Messiah to do the same because we are the Temple and House of YHVH. We
should also rid our selves of evil, teachings of the adversary through false prophets and
teachers Rev_2:20 that tickle the ear and deceive the elect Mar_13:22 2Ti_4:3 . Eze_33:2-7
Expose the enemy and warn them that he is coming and about his tactics so that you can be
like watchmen and that the people's blood will not be on your hands. Warn the people of
YHVH and blow that trumpet so that they will no longer be ignorant and go astray Hos_4:6.
What people do not realize is that if they choose to hide behind grace and allow these things
in their lives, then they actually show that they are not followers of the Messiah 1Jn_2:4 and
are gambling with their salvation as Paul states in these passages Rom_1:29-32 Gal_5:19-
21 Eph_5:3 .

Jas_1:22 - Hypocrites - Be doers of the Word and not hearers only. What does this mean?
It means that your faith is active, something you do and not only something you know.
Gnosticism is the pagan faith that teaches that your salivation is based on what you know
and they actually worship knowledge. We can fall in the same trap if we attain a lot of
knowledge about the Word but we do not live it out, in other words, we do not bear the fruit
that proves our faith. The Pharisees were like this and Y'shua told them that they were white
washed graves with dead bones in them Mat_23:27. That means that they had the
appearance of whiteness (Holiness) through what they know and what they taught, but their
actions were far from their words. This is what it means to be a hypocrite; if you talk the talk
but do not walk the walk Mat_23:23 Mat_23:25 . If you only hear the Word and talk about the
Word but you do not do the Word or bear the fruit thereof, then you too are a hypocrite like
the Pharisees and deceive yourself. You are your own worst enemy and you can be the false
prophet in your own life deceiving yourself living a lie while knowing the truth.

Jas_1:23-24 - The Mirror of the Word - The Word of YHVH is like a mirrir that you can
look into to “see” what is inside of you. If you look into the Word (mirror), you
will see your inside and the image of Y'shua (and the Father) and the purpose of the
mirror (Commandments/Word) is to show you the difference between your image and
YHVH’s image so that His Spirit can change you into His Image as you repent on what
YHVH's Spirit reveals. You need the Word and the Spirit with a humble heart to be
changed into His Image. “Receive with meekness the implanted Word…” Jas_1:21.
Humility is the key in being changed.

If you refuse to do a certain Commandment, you are actually exposing your heart and
the ‘flaw’ that keep you from entering the fullness of YHVH’s life. The Commandments
are not physical so that you can reason and understand it always; it is spiritual to do a
spiritual cleansing work within you so that His restoration process can be made complete
or “Shalom”. The more Commandments you are willing to embrace, the more you are
spiritually sorted out and converted into His Image and expressing His Character. To do
the Commandments are not for Salvation or Redemption, Y’shua’s blood takes care of
this, no, it is for Sanctification or inward washing so that He can cleanse you from the
inside so that you can become like Him (be created into His Likeness).

For unbelievers there is a veil over YHVH' Word 2Co_3:13 and a veil over their eyes
(spiritually blind) 2Co_3:14 and a veil over their hearts 2Co_3:15. Paul teaches here that
Moses had a veil over his face and that means that Moses (Torah/Law) had a veil over it so
that the people could not see the Glory of YHVH radiating from him (Messiah being revealed
from the Torah/Law/Moses) Luk_24:44. So the veil over the Torah/Law and the spiritual
blindness of the people (veil over eyes) and their hardness of hearts (veil over heart) caused
them to miss the Messiah and they did not "see" Him in the Word. We as believers in
Messiah had the veils removed from our eyes, hearts and the Torah so that we can "see" the
Messiah and not only that, but we use the Torah as a "mirror" to compare our selves with the
"Image if the Messiah" and change accordingly so that we can become LIKE Him.
Rom_12:2, 1Jn_3:2, Rom_8:29.

Jas_1:25 - The Law of Liberty - What is the Law of liberty? Is there a Law that can set us
free? I though that if you obey a law than you are not free but bound by the burden of the
law. If there is a Law of Liberty then surely there is a Law of Bondage. You are in bondage to
something if you are a slave thereof. Israel was in bondage in Egypt and were slaves of
Pharaoh. Egypt is the word Mitsrayeem that means bondage and Pharaoh represents Satan
that enslaves people who are in bondage to him. John explains to us that whoever practices
sin is a slave of sin and that means that you are in bondage to sin Joh_8:34. Paul mentions
in Rom that there is a law of the flesh that we obey in stead of the Law of the Spirit/mind
Rom_7:23-25 (Torah in your heart Jer_31:33). These two laws are in conflict and battle
against one another and the one you obey is the one who will be evident in your life
Rom_7:15-20. What cause Paul to fall into bondage of the law of the flesh? Sin that dwells in
him that is the second law he found within him. This cause him to be enslaved to the sin
because of the law of the flesh and this causes him to break the law of YHVH (Torah) which
he delights in (Rom_7:22). James quoted David in Psa_119:44:

The law of bondage is the law of the flesh that enslaves us to obey sin and be slaves of sin
that cause us to move away from YHVH. The Law of Liberty is the Law of YHVH in which
Paul delights (Rom_7:22) and that is good (Rom_7:12-13) that cause you not to be bound by
the consequences of sin. The Law of YHVH is how we know what sin is and what not to
allow in our lives because it will bind us and the end result will be death Rom_7:7. The
Instructions of YHVH is the "safe area" in which you can make decisions and the result will
be life and freedom from the bondage of sin and death. The liberty we receive from following
the Spirit (Law in your hearts) is freedom from the bondage of sin 2Co_3:17 . Liberty is not
the freedom not to follow YHVH's Law and to do what you want, freedom is the result and
consequences of things you do that are in line with the Word of YHVH and the end result is
liberty and life.

People seem to interpret Rom_7:6 that we have been set free form the Law of YHVH (Torah)
and that following the Spirit is the law of Liberty. This is only half true because following the
Spirit is actually obeying YHVH's Law (Torah) that is written in your heart (divine nature). So
how can following YHVH's Spirit (writing the Torah in your heart) cause you to be set free
form the law (Torah) that has been written in your heart, It is actually enforcing the Law of
YHVH (Torah) and to help us to do it from the "inside out", where the Spirit makes it alive
and helps us to do it with our hearts and not mechanically following the letter that kills
2Co_3:6 (not do it with the right motives - which is to love YHVH Exo_20:6, 2Jn_1:6, 1Jn_5:3
)

What law are we then set free form? Rom_7:6 If you read the context of Rom 6 & 7 you
realize that is all about being set free from sin which Paul explains at the hand of the "law of
the flesh" that is opposite the "Law of YHVH (Torah)". Rom_6:1-2, It is the flesh and the
passions of sin that worked in our bodies that brought forth death. Rom_7:5 He has set us
free from the "law of the flesh" having "died in Messiah" through Baptism Rom_6:4-6, and it
is the flesh that cause us to sin that leads to death. We are now "dead" in Messiah and
"dead" to sin and SHOULD SIN NO LONGER. We are dead to sin (not YHVH's Law) by
which we here held (bondage), so that "our death in Messiah" will free us from sin so that we
can follow YHVH's Spirit with the right motives, and His Spirit makes the "law of YHVH" alive
in our hearts so that we can obey "YHVH's Law" because we love Him. We do not obey
because we "have to" like the Pharisees taught. If we were set free form the Torah (Law) of
YHVH, why did Y'shua taught the opposite in Mat_5:17? This is not in line with the bigger
picture and is contradicting what the rest of Scripture teach. The basic test is that the Word
will or can never contradict it self somewhere else in Scripture.

When we look into the Word (mirror) which is the Law of Liberty (Torah) you will be set free
from your "old man" and fleshliness and will be changed into the Image and Likeness of our
Messiah. We should not only look into the Law of Liberty (Torah) but also continue in it (do it)
so that we are not hypocrites by doers of the Word and express the image and likeness of
Messiah's Character though us so that others can "see" what the Messiah "looks like" . Just
like when they asked Y'shua to show them the Father, He told them to look at Him and they
will "see" the Father. Joh_14:8-10. If people asked you show us Y'shua, we should be
sorted out so that we can say, look at me and you have seen the Messiah.

Jas_1:26-27 - Pure Religion & Pure Worship - If anybody demonstrates a form of worship
(religion) and does not control his tongue, then he is deceiving himself and his worshipping
YHVH is in vain. True worship is to act on the Word and to demonstrate your mitsvots (good
works) by visiting the orphans and widows and to help them in their needs.

The Hebrew word for worship is "avodah" is understood as service, worship, or

servitude. The Temple service was called The “Avodah”. “Avodah” comes from he
root word “Avad” that means; servant, to work, to create, to make and worshipers.
To work and to worship is the same concept and you worship YHVH in whatever you do
while you work. It is a continual process that never stops and you are constantly busy
worshipping YHVH by doing everything in line with His Word/Instructions while work or
you do something. This is quite a contrast of our western view on worship that is a
weekly event that stops the moment the music stops.

A servant of YHVH is a worshipper of YHVH, and worship is a continuous act. Worship

was intimately tied to work or service as we saw in the example with Abraham. When
you go to work, you should see it as going to worship and serve YHVH. You are
worshipping YHVH when you tend to your wife and children’s needs. You cannot
separate out ordinary daily activities from your service to YHVH, for they are one and the
same. So, whatever you do, you must approach it with the attitude and motivation of
service to YHVH.

True and pure worship (religion) is to keep yourself from the ways of the world. What are the
ways of the world? It is to follow th eflesh and to follow man's ways and not YHVH's ways
and His Spirit. Rom_1:29-32 Gal_5:19-21 Eph_5:3
.
