Occasions when we ask for forgiveness:

The prodigal son (Luke 15 : 11 – 32)

There was a man who had two sons. The young one told
his father to give him his share of the property.
So the father divided his property and gave him his share.

After a few days, the son sold off part of his property

and left home, with the money. He went to another

country far away. The son wasted his money in a reckless
living.

Famine spread over in that country and he was left to take

care of the pigs and feed with them.
At last, he decided to go back home. He said, “Father, I
have sinned against God and against you,” and his father
forgave him.

So we ask for forgiveness after doing wrong to someone.

We also ask for forgiveness from God.
