Covered accessible absentee voting (City Limits) for disabled New Yorkers in the 2020 primary and how Brooklyn’s ultra-Orthodox
Jewish communities handled social distancing (City & State Magazine) early in the pandemic. Also reported on New York issues
including redevelopment efforts (QNS.com) in the Willets Point neighborhood of Queens and a Reform Party candidate’s unusual
congressional campaign (Patch.com). Reported and produced a multimedia story about public transit accessibility for City Limits. The
project included print, a character-driven audio feature and photos of the inaccessible subway system.

Juvenile Justice Information Exchange, New York, NY Jan. 2020-April 2020


Research and Production Assistant
Researched for and produced a documentary audio project about a Pennsylvania man, sentenced to life in prison when he was a
teenager. Transcribed interviews. Researched news stories relevant to the case. Helped shape the creative direction of the project.
Wrote about how COVID-19 is affecting juvenile justice in Pennsylvania.

Worked closely with the producers, reporters and music producer to plan shows, ensure reporters delivered packages on deadline.
Booked and created questions for live Q&A. Helped write and time the script and coordinated with partner stations WHDD and
WHCR to deliver the show. Named and organized all pre-packaged segments, delivered those segments to the audio engineer on
deadline. Produced stories including: a non-narrated piece about how visually impaired people navigate challenges on public transit; a
look at the battle over a new homeless shelter in Queens; and a feature about the lack of subway accessibility in New York City.

Wrote about New York City and state political issues, including: an analysis of the progressive field in the 2021 Manhattan D.A. race;
a piece about how ride-hail companies’ level of compliance with New York City’s wheelchair accessible vehicle standards; and an
update on the horse-carriage issue from the 2013 mayoral election. Also, did quick-turnaround aggregated pieces for web: a rundown
of New York Republicans’ reactions to Trump’s tweets about four Democratic Congresswomen and a list of de Blasio’s political
dealings with the Orthodox community. Conducted Q&A with 32BJ SEIU union head Kyle Bragg. Edited Q&As with New York
State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Linda Lacewell and former New York State Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman.

Independent Capstone Project
Produced a 3-episode (20 minutes each) podcast series about the concept of fake news. Interviewed media experts and political
scientists. Wrote scripts, captured sound, edited in Adobe Audition CC, and promoted via social media.
