Warm up (hangover) 3 minutes

● “Wh questions” is the phrase to guess. .

Presentation (grammar lesson)20 minutes


● The teacher hands out some copies regarding this topic and explains briefly on
the board the messages of many WH questions (20 minutes).
● The teacher takes advantage of a specific situation which every WH question will
be related to it. Once he goes on to explain another “wh” question, he asks the
students to finish the question as well as the answers.

Situation: “likes”

A. What do you like to do?


B. Study English. I like to study English
A.Where do you like to study English?
BAt the library. I like to study English at the library.
A. When do you like to study English at the library?
B. In the afternoon. I like to study English in the afternoon.
A. What time do you like to study English on weekdays?
B. At 2 pm. I like to study English on weekdays at 2: pm
A. How much time do you like to study English at the library?
B. 2 hours. I like to study English at the library 2 hours.
A. How often do you study English at the library?
B. Every other day. I like to study English at the library
A. Why do you study English at the library?
B. Because I like it. I like to study English at the library because I like it.
A. Who do you study English with?
B. With my girlfriend. I like to study English with my girlfriend.
A. How far is it from your house to the institute?
B. 5 blocks. It is 5 blocks from here.
A. How long does it take to get from your house to the library?
B. Two hours. It takes me 2 hours to get from my house to the library

Practice (listening 20 minutes, speaking 30 minutes)

 The students will listen to a recording made by myself at both at a slow pace
and at a fast pace which has a correlation to what was presented 20 minutes
ago. “15 minutes”

 The students will work in pairs. The idea thing is that they can bring up other
situations as follows:

-What do you like to eat?


- What do you want to drink?
-What do you want to do today?

The other person will draw on Wh questions to find out information. Then they
switch roles. And even they can work with another partner.
Production (reading) 15
● Students work on some simple activities whereby some information must be completed. Afterward,
the teacher will check pronunciation.

Students work in teams and develop some “wh questions” activities “15
minutes”
