Ans: The word persevere mean persist steadily in an action or belief.

Ans: It mean if we strive after failure there is no disgrace in it.

EXPLANATION OF STANZA 1 •

"Try again" is a message that cannot be ignored. We must always pay


attention to this message. If, due to unfavorable situation, we fail in our first
effort, we should not be discouraged instead we should make better efforts
to reach our goal. We must demonstrate that we have the strength to bear
the loss. This would help us to come forward with a new spirit. We should
be firm in our efforts without any fear. If we do so, we would be successful.
Thus we should not neglect the lesson "Try again".

We may fail in our attempts one, two or many times but if we keep on
struggling, we will finally win. What we need to do is to keep on working
and not to get disappointed and be firm in efforts. It is not a matter of
shame to work and work. Though, we have failed in our efforts, we should
not feel discouraged. What we need to do in such a situation is to try again.

If you feel that you have failed in your task in one effort, make another one
with considerable force. A time will come when you will enjoy the fruit of
your hard work. What you need to do is to keep on working. You must
know that if all people can achieve their goals, you can also get to yours.
What you need is to be firm and constant in making efforts. The only thing
you must keep in mind is that you should never get

This beautiful and short poem has been written by William Edward
Hickson. This poem is a moral lesson for us. In this poem the poet
says if at first you do not succeed try again to get your goal. We
should not give up our struggle during failure. We should learn from
failure. Try again is the only gate way to success. In other words poet
tries to explain the importance of trying again in life. Many people get
frustrated after failure and give up their struggle. So we can say that
try again is the only way to be successful. In this poem, the poet
emphasizes that when the world says, ''Give up,'' Hope whispers, ''Try
it one more time,'' The road to success is dotted with many tempting
parking places. So you should keep up trying again and again to
cross this road.

The poem is an epitome of the lesson of success, courage,


perseverance, conquest ,prevalence, grace and patience. The
message of the poem is universal. One mustn't surrender to the
challenges or hurdles.
