the east and south-eastern
part of Asian continent.

It shares a northern border


with China, its eastern one with
the Pacific Ocean and it
borders India and Bangladesh
on the west.

There are lots of volcanoes along the mountain ranges
in Indonesia and the Philippines
Climate refers to the weather which regularly exists in each
region by considering the average temperature of each
month and the quantity of rain for all times of the year.
1.Tropical humid or tropical humid forest
• It is rainy with long rainy days woody shrubs with
green leaves all through the year
• Ex. Indonesia, East Timor, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore,
the Philippines, coast Myanmar, the southern and the
eastern part of Thailand and coastal Vietnam.
2.Tropical wet-dry or tropical grassland
• It is rainy with long rainy days which occur during half a year.
• The natural plants are mainly coastal mangrove
• Ex. Most parts of the Indo-China Peninsula offshore towards the inland
• They are materials that occur in nature and are
essential or useful to humans.
• Southeast Asia is a region which is rich in natural
resources but lacks sources of capital and
technology to effectively manage and use them.
1. Soil resources
• Most of the found are called lateritic soils.
• The more fertile soils are called alluvial soils which
are the result of an addition of sediment owing to the
heavy flow of the river and from the mouths of major
rivers in Southeast Asia.
• Volcanic soils are found in Indonesia and the
Philippines.
• These rich soils are derived from volcanic lava. After a
volcanic eruption.
• These soils are full of minerals and nutrients essential
for the growth of plant.
2. Water resources
• SEA is the richest in natural
water resources
• Ex. The Irrawaddy, the
Salween, the Chao Phraya,
the Red, the Mekong, and
the Khmer Lake.
Water is important for public health, whether
it is used for drinking, domestic use, food
production or recreational purposes.
Improved water supply and sanitation, and
better management of water resources, can
boost countries' economic growth.
• Lake refers to large water area similar to marshes but
deeper and without vegetation.
• Lake is an area holding fresh water.
• Lake is a large body of water surrounded by land.
3. Natural plants
In the past, this region had
an abundance of natural
plants because this region
is in the tropical zone. The
climate is rainy with long
hours of sunshine.
• Tropical rainforest refers
to the forest which grows
in an area with hot humid
climate, long rainy days
and a high temperature
all through the year.
• Monsoon forest refers to the forest which grows in an
area with a hot humid climate and much rainfall.
• Savannah wood land refers to the forest which grows
in the semi-arid zone with scant rainfall.

5. Land animals including wildlife suddenly
• Land animals including wildlife have dramatically decreased
and some species have become extinct because of
deforestation. no longer exists
• Domestic animals are raising for working and producing
food.
• Marine life is found in freshwater sources and seas.
