INTRODUCTION
The proposed business is a digital business advisory service aimed at all businesses that are
digital and take the online space. With the world evolving today and making a complete shift
towards technology and the digital space, it is extremely important for every business to have an
online presence. Similarly, my business is entirely digital and aimed at any business that has an
online presence, entirely or partially. There are a set of services ranging from mentoring to social
media handling along with graphics and web development available that our customers can
choose from as per the needs of their respective businesses.
Our business encompasses all marketing efforts that use an electronic device or the internet.
Businesses leverage digital channels such as search engines, social media, email, and other
websites to connect with current and prospective customers. While traditional marketing might
exist in print ads, phone communication, or physical marketing, digital marketing can occur
electronically and online. This means that there are a number of endless possibilities for brands
including email, video, social media, or website-based marketing opportunities.
My motivation behind starting this business came from the dream of being financially
independent and having my own venture, being married to an army officer gave me all the more
reason to pursue this even further because nobody could guarantee our stay in one city for more
than 2 years and a career in the corporate world isn’t possible with that kind of instability. With
that, I started looking into skill based learning in my areas of interest when I came across
multiple online courses on skillshare and coursera and also a 6 months diploma from the Indus
Valley School of Art and Architecture in Creative advertising that covered aspects of branding,
integrated marketing communication, copy writing, illustrations and also an element of graphic
design. I was thrilled to start this business that I could operate on remotely, without my location
being an issue.
However, a major setback that stirred a crisis across the globe was COVID-19, commonly
known as the Corona Virus. This virus started from Wuhan, China in late 2019 and during the
first quarter of 2020, it had spread across the globe affecting about 1.2 million people hence
declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. This pushed all governments across the
world to enforce a lockdown putting a halt to all business activities on ground affecting
economies globally but even in such a situation, the only businesses that are working full-fledged
are those that operate online or the technology sector. The lockdown has given me, and my
clients, time to rethink business strategies for them and to create exciting content and be
prepared for the world as soon as this situation is over.
With the world being on a lockdown, people are realizing the importance of technology and
everything digital. At this stage, digital marketing is vital for your business and brand awareness.
It seems like every other brand has a website. And if they don't, they at least have a social media
presence or digital ad strategy. Digital content and marketing is so common that consumers now
expect and rely on it as a way to learn about brands. Long story short, to be competitive as a
business owner, you'll need to embrace some aspects of digital marketing.
Because digital marketing has so many options and strategies associated with it, you can get
creative and experiment with a variety of marketing tactics on a budget. With digital marketing,
you can also use tools like analytics dashboards to monitor the success and ROI of your
campaigns more than you could with a traditional promotional content -- such as a billboard or
print ad.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
We live in rapidly changing times, especially for businesses. Consider that, in a single
generation, businesses have had to adapt to entirely new marketing channels (web and social),
decide how to invest in and utilize new technologies, and compete on a global stage. One side
effect of these rapid changes and growth is that no single CEO or any employee can be an expert
in everything. This was, perhaps, always true, but it has never been more apparent.
This is why, in my opinion, some of the biggest challenges businesses face today are best met
and addressed with qualified consultants. Bringing on a consultant helps CEOs add the expertise
and skills they need to address particular problems at particular times, and can provide the best
possible outcomes. Just a few of the challenges I see businesses facing that are best addressed
with the help of a consultant include;
 Uncertainty about the future
Being able to predict customer trends, market trends, etc. is vital to a changing economic
climate, but not every CEO has predictive powers. Bringing in a consultant trained in reading
and predicting those all-important trends could be the difference between a bright future and a
murky one.
 Technology
As technologies change practically at the speed of light, it’s vital for companies to innovate or be
left behind, but many CEOs started their careers and businesses before many of these
technologies even existed. Consultants can be vital for integrating new technologies, in particular
mobile, app development, and cloud computing.
 Customer service and maintaining reputation
In a world of instant gratification, customers expect instant customer service, and can take to the
web to share their displeasure at less than satisfactory service just as quickly. Consultants can
find ways to improve customer service and bring it into the 21st century. In a similar vein,
because customers can voice any displeasure so much more publicly and loudly than ever before,
businesses have to monitor and maintain their online reputations. And while it’s an important
task, its one best suited to a third party who can monitor and mediate with a certain amount of
distance.
 Knowing when to embrace change
Early adopter or late to the game? Consultants can help CEOs determine when to embrace
change and when to stay the course. Not everything new is better, yet eschewing every change
runs the risk of becoming obsolete. A professional outside opinion can make all the difference in
these decisions. We are living in an era of constant change for the foreseeable future: change is
the new normal. Preparing for and embracing that change by investing in the right kind of advice
is the best way to meet these challenges head on.
Keeping all these above problems in view, it can easily be concluded that businesses whether
small or big need consultants and there is all the more reason for small businesses to hire them
which is what our business aims to provide.

while people could resort to having a healthy lifestyle, they could also do it their way by adding
an element of themselves to it, they run this business by the name of Plantoonz. In her free time,
Shayma likes spending time with her friends and family and enjoys reading however there’s
barely any free time for her being a senior and she already struggles with keeping up her hobbies
so when she found out about my business, she was excited to jump on board with me and hired

news, media and entertainment for millennials. Anum said she lacked time to juggle everything
and would have really appreciated if she could outsource her own business’ administrative tasks

their productivity and also keep track of their tasks. When I presented Eliazar with my business

creating the image of epitome and grace they see themselves in, keeping in mind the kind of taste
they have and how to cater to it, the budget they give, meeting deadlines and alterations, trying to
please the customer and not forgetting what the brand stands for. She does all of this while taking
care of two children, 8 and 4 and also travelling between Toronto and Karachi very frequently.
This however also came with a few troubles that included tailors and workers not showing up,
late opening of markets, strikes affecting the labour, unavailability of cloth and other materials.

managing clients, dates, weather conditions and unacceptable demands made by the clients at
the last minute. She said she had to deal with the creative mindset of the clients and then
implement it as per Drape’s standards. Purchasing material, handling vendors, working with
clients, creating layouts, indoor/outdoor field selection and giving the photographer a visual idea
of how to capture the venue and event while turning dreams into reality left little to no time for
her to market her business because she also had to deal with the all troubles that came with the
business like last minute cancellations, unpredictable weather, strikes etc and said would really
appreciate a service where she could outsource the marketing and handling of her existing social
media accounts. For her, Digital Delight was the perfect avenue for her to be able to run the

weekends, he’s also actively involved with multiple NGOs which helped provide basic education
to the underprivileged children and help them lead better lives. He said it took a lot of time for
him to commute between his office, fuel station and his residence and needed help with having a
better platform to help manage his fuel station and keep records instead of having office riders to
go and check all the way. He said he could utilize their resources in a better way if he had a

business and give it an online presence so he could reach a greater audience and expand his
business.

for a virtual assistant to help him with his projects in real estate and also that he wanted to build
an online community for the mosque so he could arrange multiple activities for the families and

online community.
BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS
VALUE PROPOSITION
Our business aims to provide services to make it easier for businesses with an online presence to
get their work done in the quickest yet efficient manner possible. A commonality we found in
our customer profiling was the lack of time and skill that business owners faced that created a
hindrance in their delivering the best to their client so we act as a key partner in their businesses
and provide the services mentioned above. Our aim is to have customer gain more audience for
their business and to also maximize their sales with better graphics, understanding the social
media algorithms better, great content and the right tools they can use to be on top of their
game. As more and more businesses successfully experiment with digital advertising, they’re
realizing that taking the social media advertising route makes total sense. Here’s why:
 Lower ad costs: When compared to traditional advertising methods such as print media,
TV and radio advertising, social ads are not only dependable, but also cheaper. What’s
more, you’re allowed to engage on various social media channels for free before
scaling with paid ads. You’re free to grow on your own, at your own pace.
 Targeted reach: Traditional advertising doesn’t give you the luxury to reach out to
your target audience the way social media ads do. It simply doesn’t work that way.
When you’re doing offline advertising, you’re taking the blind, shotgun approach
where your returns are dismal even if you’re making big investments. Using social
media ads you reach out to targeted prospects, increase your conversions and
ultimately get a higher return on investment.
 Real-time performance analysis: Knowing if your ad is working or not is integral in order
to improve it. When you’re doing any type offline advertising, you’re unable to analyze
the performance of your ad campaign. Which cripples massively cripples your efforts.
Social media ads on the other hand allow you to constantly keep track of how well your
ad is performing. You’re able to change your ad on the fly and instantaneously see the
results.
 Ability to reach more: People are no longer dependent on Google search when they
need to connect to something or someone. Today, search is not limited to the mighty
web search engines. It has moved beyond, which is why social media platforms such as
Facebook and Twitter are the new search engines.
The social media world is evolving and is so is the SEO arena. And there are high chances that
social signals may start having effect on your rankings. So why not be prepared by building your
social media presence with valuable content? It’s important for businesses of all types to
understand that social media ads are only getting bigger and smarter. Social media advertising is
where the future is headed. It’s the new wave.
CUSTOMER SEGMENTS
Digital Delight plans to cater to businesses generally that have an online presence but once I
went through the customer profiling, I carefully segmented a few groups that I essentially
wanted to serve. These segments include;

1. Startups- This segment includes individuals who own a startup or a company or

project to seek, effectively develop, and validate a scalable business model. While we
cater to all entrepreneurs but we especially want to target new businesses that intend
to grow large beyond the solo founder.
2. Students- This segment relates to students who own startups and especially those
who are enrolled in the course of small business and entrepreneurship at IOBM
considering that they have to run and manage a full-fledged business while also
being enrolled in a full load semester most times. These students have a lot to juggle
and digital delight would be more than happy to take some workload off their backs
and help them excel this particular course.
3. Entrepreneurs working from home- As the world evolves, more and more people
who initially stayed at home doing nothing productive and basically being a burden
on the economy have started coming forward to utilize their resources and start their
own small scale businesses, Digital Delight aims to cater to them to help them reach
a greater audience from the comfort of their homes, this segment especially includes
women who are already deprived of a lot of exposure and resources.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Maintaining healthy customer relations is important to keep your customers loyal to your
business. It even helps with getting fewer refund requests. According to stats, a business can lose
about 56% of its customers if it doesn’t invest time and resources is a good customer service. On
the other hand, where a good customer service is in place, you will start to gain reviews from
people that are happy with their product or everything you did for them so they could get their
order. Consequently, you will gain more loyal customers. 86% of customers will pay up to 25%
more when they have a good experience with customer service. This means that your customers
will spend more money, which will then increase your average order value. Keeping in mind the
same philosophy, we crafted a bunch of packages that are going to be offered to each customer
upon the first impression they have of us, when they first approach us for business and finally
when we are ready to say good bye to the project upon completion.

CHANNELS
The traditional way of marketing brands, products and services make use of either indirect or
direct methods of reaching out to targeted customers. These methods are clear-cut and very
straightforward – you just need to invest money, perform a set of actions, and get results. The
business and marketing landscape have drastically changed in recent years however. Traditional
methods that were effective before may not be as effective in this current market powered by the
complexities – and the vast wealth of opportunities – by the Internet. That is why it is very
important that your brand and business establish and maintain a very strong online presence to be
competitive enough to reach out to targeted audiences. Traditional marketing rules does not
necessarily apply in current scenarios. The question lies, which marketing type is best for your
situation?
The answer depends largely on the type of business and the kind of customers that are being
targeted. Not all of these digital marketing tools are applicable for which Digital Delight has
picked a few and decided to stick to those to reach our audience and potential clients. The
channels we have chosen are listed below-
Social media- It is definitely one of the most phenomenal things to happen in the digital arena
that business owners and digital marketers can leverage on to create brand awareness for their
products and services. Through Social Media Marketing (SMM), digital marketers can reach out
to highly-targeted potential customers through direct and person-to-person engagement.
Businesses and digital marketers continue to ride the bandwagon and more than 50% are
planning to increase their SMM budgets this year. However we have selected the most
appropriate social networks to promote our business to a particular kind of targeted audience
such as;
 Facebook – We can reach out to almost any kind of general consumer, by joining
the groups and pages our targeted customers frequently go to at Facebook.
 Twitter – In order to reach out to early-adopters, particularly in generating fast
brand awareness, Twitter is the right way to go.
 LinkedIn – Reaching out to professionals, business owners and other Business-
to- Business (B2B) leads and targeted customers.
 Google+ – This is another good social network for reaching out to early adopters of
new businesses as well as reaching out to the B2B and general social media user.
 Pinterest – This social network is great to focus on visuals for promoting brands and
products. Majority of users are also women and since that’s our market then SMM
on Pinterest is ideal.
Email Marketing- When business perform lead generation and other marketing strategies, they
collect contact information like phone numbers and email addresses from potential customers,
including permissions to send them updates and other information through email. Email
marketing is one of the most effective digital marketing channels that can give businesses and
ROI of up to 4,300%. Many businesses with in-house digital marketers use email marketing,
with up to 66% rating this tool as excellent for delivering ROI. This is why up to 56% of
business highlighted that they are planning to increase email-related marketing activities by
2020. Examples of emails sent include emails for brand building, conversion, and newsletters.
Display Advertising- Many people visit blogs, forums, and other websites that are interesting or
useful to them. Digital marketers can reach out to these potential customers by placing relevant
display ads on these third party sites. These include banners, boxes, interactive ads, video ads,
interstitial ads, overlays and other similar ads that are linked to a landing page or website.
Display advertising creates greater brand awareness as well as generate highly targeted traffic
that may convert into leads or sales. Payments for these display ads are usually based on
Cost- Per-Impression (CPM) which is usually more cost-effective compared to the Cost-Per-
Click (CPC) scheme typical of PPC advertising.
Word of Mouth Marketing- Word of mouth marketing has always been one of the most
effective marketing channels, and that will continue on an on-going basis. You’ll brush it off if a
salesperson tells you that you need that watch, but when your friend points out how much they
love wearing it every day because of all the smart features, you’ll take more notice. There are
two primary methods to encourage word of mouth marketing. Referral programs and motivating
online reviews for different platforms online, including Google, LinkedIn, and Yelp. A number
of things that make it effective are;
 Run Referral or Affiliate Programs- Offer customers an incentive like a discount or
purchase credit every time one of their referrals hires you or purchases from you.
Make that incentive valuable.
 Ask customers directly- After a purchase or service has been rendered, reach out to
users and ask what they thought and if they wouldn’t mind leaving a review.
 Showcase the reviews you have- Use tools to feature your reviews on your site, either
on product pages or a general testimonial page.
KEY PARTNERS
Digital Delight was started as a sole proprietorship and is fully digital which meant that there
were no key partners except the owner herself, however there are a number of people who’ve
contributed in equipping the individual to be able to run this business smoothly and we refer to
them as our Supporting Partners.
1. Ms. Nadiya Najib- She is an inspired digital marketing business owner and lifestyle
blogger living in Halifax, Canada. She has been working for different companies
within Marketing in England, Pakistan & Canada for about ten years. After moving to
Halifax in 2018, she decided to start her own business where she creates websites and
provides social media support to clients all over the world. Ms Najib helped me
figure a way to set my business up and help me find a way to be financially
independent given my future- being posted to multiple cities as an army officer’s
wife. She helped me understand how I could use the digital platform entirely to mark
my presence and at the same time, be productive.
2. Mr. Syed Ahsan Abdi- He is an information technology consultant based out of
Sheffield, United Kingdom. He works from home and helps devise and formulate
IT strategies for corporations and also implements these strategies on the tactical
level. He has experience of working in the Gulf as well as the European companies.
Mr Abdi helped me in understanding how consultancy models worked and how
important it was for business to shift to the digital space in today’s world. He also
helped prepare the business model and how it could reach out to certain target
markets, specifically women.
3. Ms. Afreen Mansoor- She is a senior graphic designer with over 6 years of
experience in projects that range from managing the social media (content+artworks)
to designing collateral for national and international clients. Ms. Mansoor quit her 9-
5 corporate job to pursue freelancing full time and is now also a freelance and Fiverr
coach. She taught me how one can pursue and excel at running a freelance business
and also how one can use Fiverr to maximize their gigs and price their work
appropriately.
4. Mr. Ali Abbas Mirza- He is a marketing professional by nature and has worked in
advertising agencies in Pakistan, including electronic and print media groups. He
also teaches marketing, management and event management in universities and is
currently the head of marketing at IOBM while being a visiting faculty for IVS-CEP
Program as the course instructor for Integrated Marketing Communications. Mr
Mirza taught me a number of things that included exclusive brand promotion deals,
online advertising, brand consultancy, publishing and most importantly unique ideas-
from presentation till execution.

web development applications made or acquired by Adobe Systems. The ones we use for our
business include Photoshop- to edit, composite, and create beautiful images, graphics, and art on
desktop and iPad; and Illustrator- to create vector graphics and illustration;
2. Skillshare
Skillshare is an American online learning community for people who want to learn from
educational videos. The majority of courses focus on interaction rather than lecturing, with the
primary goal of learning by completing a project. The main course categories are creative arts,
design, entrepreneurship, lifestyle, technology, and many more subtopics which help us keep
polishing our skills and staying up to date with the changing trends.
3. Fiverr
Fiverr is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers. For examples, buyers look for services
within a lot of categories like music and audio, video and animation and others. Meanwhile,
seller are the people offering those services. So, they create Gigs that buyers pay for. This is an
ideal platform for our business to sell our services so we can be approached by clients directly.
4. Google
It is important to have a secure and reliable mode of communication with your clients especially
when 100% of the dealing happens over the internet for which Digital Delight has chosen to use
gmail for our official communication and google drive to deliver clients their projects once
completed.

the same information from more than two people, which is why we use it on the client intake
process.

are flexible, shareable, and let you pack a ton of detail into each card. It is a task management
tool that is perfect for all kinds of projects or teams. This includes content teams, marketing
projects, customer support tracking, sales pipelines, and HR tracking.
