The BOTO, the pink dolphin, is a character from popular Amazonian culture. It is said that
during local festivities and full moon nights, he appears transformed into a very handsome
man in a white suit.

Our group was created in 2018 in the city of Barcelona, with the desire to promote an
Amazonian experience, through myths, warm rhythms and bright colors with a tropical
atmosphere, for a tasty mix with a tropical sound that connects us with many nationalities.
BOTO was born out of the need to promote and spread these cultures, still very little known,
even in Brazil.

Our family is made up of artists with different backgrounds. We were united by the common
interest generated by our "northern" culture, in northern Brazil. As with the foundations of the
formation of what is today Brazilian culture, we are a group with various accents and artistic
expressions united by the interest in researching and reproducing some of the music present
in this cultural richness that is Brazil.

We want to share with the public part of this mixed heritage, through a visual and sound
environment that leads us to the Amazon tropical imaginary. Our music is especially
danceable, and we transmit that energy to the audience. We tell the myths and legends of
the region through the lyrics of our songs, whether from local tradition or original creations,
once again evoking images and the atmosphere to take the audience on a journey through
rivers and rainforests.

DIFFERENTIAL FACT
Our mission is to spread this Amazonian culture still very little known in Brazil and even
further abroad. A culture still in the process of settlement that is reinvented with each new
encounter. Being a pioneering group in bringing and sharing these styles, we have aroused
a lot of curiosity from the Barcelona public and other entities and professionals of Brazilian
popular culture who live in the city.

Format
An 80 min show in the afternoon / evening, for all types of audiences, of all ages, using
mixed stages and audiovisual elements. A group of six musicians who embody different
aspects of this tropical indentity. The audience is an active part of the event, immersed in a
wild and tropical atmosphere, and we connect with it through music, dance, stories and
rituals.

The journey takes you on a voyage through a musical repertoire that presents us with
features of everyday life, of ancestral stories, where the singers give us moments inbetween
songs and tales, and take us, beyond popular legends, to the stories of rivers and festivities.
